After hearing of the fires in Gatlinburg a few years ago, this little cabin was one of my greatest concerns that it be preserved. Fortunately, it seems to have fared quite well. The craftsmanship is a marvel and while it has been well preserved, it...More

We stopped here and had to look. I was glad we did. The cabin is so old and a really cool part of history. My kids liked it too. Good picture spot.

This is where you want to go to learn some of the real history of Gatlinburg. Amazing that it is still here after all these years.

located next to the Municipal Packing Building at the intersection of Hwy 441 and 321, this little historic cabin is easily missed. It is very informative of life in the mountains in the pioneer days.

We found this by mistake.. We were traveling the motor nature trail and came upon it. It was so beautiful and the changing of the leaves just added more to it. Thank goodness the fire did not touch it.

We take our exchanges students each year to this cabin on the motor trail and they enjoy seeing the old home place. For some they say it looks like some of the farmers homes in their country

This was the first visit to a historic building for the 3 year old. She was very inquisitive and enjoyed learning about a log cabin. We hiked the path behind the buildings and over several wooden bridges or plank bridges. Very peaceful. Most people didn't...More
