We did the boos and brews tour and it did not disappoint! This city is so creepy and cool and the history is astounding.
We loved our guide Lyssa. She had so much information, so many great stories and was just an absolute pleasure! If you go on the tour, request her! She’s phenomenal.

I went on a Boos & Brews tour with Tara Haunted Tours back in 2012 (I gave it 5 stars!) and had a great time. I found myself back in Savannah wanting to do a ghost tour so of course I booked with them again. Unfortunately this time it was not so great. The stories and "history" were ok. Our tour guide Lyssa was not so great. She was very awkward in general which is totally fine but if anyone did anything other than be silent and listen to her she would be visible agitated and freak out a little. If anyone had a comment or thought for the group she did her best to put you down and tell you no. Overall it was ok but definitely did not make us feel welcome or like we could have any fun on a tour you're supposed to be drinking and having a good time.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!
We brought a group for the Boos and Brews tour and we’re so very disappointed. From the very beginning Stephanie, the tour guide, was very unprofessional! She let me know first thing that she had issues with another group, and after words told one of the customers “bye bitch” and saluted her!
From there Stephanie continuously told us we were like herding cats, mind you, there were only six of us (3 not drinking at this point). The first 20 minutes she went over rules such as; we were not to speak when other tours were around. She reached out and grabbed one of our group and wouldn’t let her cross the street until she said she was allowed to go. As we were arriving at our fist stop we asked if we could stop in at another place as well, instead of explaining that she had a routine she very forcefully said “NO NO NO” and left it at that.
When we arrived at Moon River Brewing, she said we were not to drink until after her tour, then became extremely agitated when a group member asked to grab water before going to the basement.
Upon entering the basement we met an employee who scared the daylights out of us (he laughed it off as well), at that point Stephanie ran over and started telling us we had to be quiet. Mind you, we were all just laughing WITH AN EMPLOYEE, at a very loud brewery at 9:30pm!! Stephanie then said she was going to sit a bit while we looked around. One group member asked the employee who was still in the basement,about the back room he was going in. He replied “come on” and showed her some of the architecture where they house the can goods. At this point Stephanie ran over screaming for her to come from the room.
Our group member was so uncomfortable with the exchange that she promptly left the room, went upstairs, and left all together.
When another member of our group asked me asked if we should get our money back Stephanie became extremely hostile and “called her manager”. I asked to speak to her as well, she Had someone on the phone who was extremely sick and could barely speak. I apologized for the inconvenience, And let her know that Stephanie’s behavior was unacceptable. Her manager let me know that she would speak to her boss and see what they could do if we would be leaving the tour to get our money back. When I went to hand the phone to Stephanie, she snatched it out of my hand and stormed halfway up the steps. From there she continuously pointed her fingers at me and became even more combative. At that point I had enough and we got into a shouting match. Where Stephanie let me know we were not her customers and not only was the tour done, we were to leave Moon River Brewing immediately.
30 or so minutes later she pushed passed us on the sidewalk.
Upon calling today, her manager called me a liar multiple times. She also said she spoke with Moon River and they showed tapes of this all going down and that Stephanie did nothing! It was all my groups fault.
I have spoke with Moon River Management and they let me know they have not spoken with Her manager or given any tapes.
Not only did The manager at Tara haunted tours Refuse to give me her name. She let my husband Know that if we emailed or reached out to the owner she would be screening all calls and emails prior to him receiving them. As the owner was stuck in Australia due to Covid restrictions.
I have never experienced this type of service!!! It is sad to know that there are businesses out there treating their customers this way. Especially when they are willing to supported them through this pandemic. They make local businesses look very bad.

A group of 7 of us traveled to Savannah to hang out and have a great time. I actually wrote this in my comments when I ordered my tickets for the Boos and Brews Ghost Tour. Lucky for our guide, Lance, it was just the 7 of us. Unfortunately, Lance did not want to take time to engage us and make sure that we enjoyed our tour. First of all, the meeting place was not a place that had a haunted past or anything, so I am not sure why we met there. Our first stop was actually Moon River Brewing which was very close to our resort, so we hiked to the McDonough meeting place for nothing. Lance had some interesting stories to tell and was a great historian, but he walked much too fast for our group and did not make enough pub stops for our pub crawl. We stopped at 3 places, and there was a long walk between two of the places, so all of us were in need of a drink by then. I am certain that Lance was not monitoring our drinks. Lol! Overall, we enjoyed ourselves, but I wish that Tara Haunted Tours Team had offered us a fun guide to make our Boos and Brews Ghost Tour more exciting.

Me and my niece signed up for the ‘Capture the dead’ tour and Lance was our guide. We actually ended up being the only 2 on the tour and we both enjoyed it! Got a lot of great pictures and will recommend this tour to others.

Second time doing this particular company's pub crawl ghost tour. Lance did such an amazing job. He was funny and engaging. Learned things we never knew. Got amazing pictures as well as being shown historical pictures he had. The knowledge he was able to share with us will stay with us. Makes Savannah that much more amazing. Thank you guys!

I booked last minute with Tara Haunted Tours for an evening ghost walking tour. I am SO happy that I did. Your guide was Lance and he was awesome! He had so much knowledge it was awesome! The entire tour was about 2hrs and I could have kept going it was so fun! Lance truly made the night!

We got to tour with Lance for the Happy Hour tour and it was so much better than I expected. I thought we would hear mostly about history but some of the stories and places we walked by gave me chills. He went way above and beyond to show us everything and let us know where the best picture spots are. It was actually pretty creepy but really interesting and fun. I would definitely recommend this tour and Lance to anyone visiting Savannah.

Does this tour take you beyond the 2nd floor of Moon River Brewing Company? That is the area I'm most interested in.

No. The 3rd floor area is restricted, even to their employees. The original flooring up the has safety issues. We only tour the 2nd floor and basement (if it’s available).

You can be 18 to take the tour (if you can serve my country at 18, you can take a tour) but 21 to drink! Bartenders will check your ID.

How far/distance is the tour? Is it a fast pace walk?

Our tours are 2 hours long, and the average distance is between a 1/2-3/4 mile walk. It's very leisurely paced, and we also stop inside haunted locations for stories, bathroom breaks, and photo ops.
How much is it and is there a certain age you have to be?

To drink on the Boos and Brews ghost tour you must be 21. We have made exceptions to anyone 18 or older to take the tour. I believe if you can serve our country in the military at 18, you can certainly take an adult ghost tour of Savannah!

Would you recommend it for a special anniversary dinner for hubby and I? Will they do something special to mark our 16th anniversary? Is it romantic or does it have great view? We are new to Adelaide and just don't know any special places here for such an occasion.

They will work with your schedule but its not romantic, per say. Dinner at Vics on the River would be romantic and delicious! This is more history/ghost orientated but very interesting! Check out her Facebook page for good reviews and descriptions of what goes on on the tours. Happy Anniversary!
