Always a sacred spot to visit but particularly lovely on the annual Rememberance Weekend illumination (with luminaires) in commemoration of the Gettysburg Address. To honor the war dead....(people from many wars are buried here) is good for your soul. It makes us realize that there are many who gave the supreme sacrifice for what they believed. Walking here is walking with history, and is a very powerful experience.

Yes it is. There is a monument in the cemetery locating approximately the exact location he delivered the speech.

Gettysburg Museum was really good and should be seen first as we did. It's $14 for adults which gets you the movie, cyclorama and museum collection. The park is free and there are so many monuments to stop and see. Plan on a... More

Since l do not have a pet that travels with us I am not sure. Like most places l have seen some on leashes. My husband just informed me that the cemetery does not allow pets
