Neighbourhood: Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

So tacky. The whole structure is a blight on the city. Why are they allowed to block the sidewalk and have that ridiculous clock without a permit?

We visited not really knowing what to expect! Opulent buildings, had Tiffany’s there before they opened new store.
Drank cocktails at the bar met some hilarious Texan ladies.
Worth a visit!

It has become a tourist attraction because of one famous sort-of resident. People pose for pictures here. Lots of security all around. I don't think it's an attractive or interesting skyscraper. It to tacky and gaudy. Gold color, which is off-putting.

Politics aside, Donald J. Trump has successfully transformed his home into a shrine of the 45th President of the United States. The skyscraper includes Trump Cafe, Trump Grill and of course, a Trump souvenir shop. An interesting place to take a look, especially when fervent Trump supporters flock to this place.

Only a very small part of the tower can you actually see, and there's not much going on. There's a small restaurant, ice cream parlor (which is actually pretty good), and a gift shop.
Duck in and grab some ice cream if you're passing by I guess.

There is no accommodation at TT as it is a commercial building & Donald's HQ. For luxury and opulance you might wish to consider the Trump International overlooking Central Park. His empire embraces other hotels (eg, in Chicago) and maybe others in NYC too. You'd have to do the legwork. Hope of help. Best regards & enjoy the Big Apple!

Do you have to go on an escalator here or are there other options?
margusVM

For tourists it will be escalators to either go up or down. They have elevators but I have never seen people other than employees use them. Not sure if they would let you use it if you needed to. On the other hand, there really isn't much to see. The first floor has a Starbucks Kiosk and the basement a one option food court type thing and a restaurant. I forget in which floor the bar is. If you just want to get the feel of what Trumo Tower is, you can do that by just going into the lobby and walking back towards the water fall. There isn't really much more than that to see.

Is it okay to go to the top floor to see the garden if you are just a visitor to New York City?

Sorry. I don't think the garden where we were was all the way to the top but it did offer a pretty good view.
