If I drive between Manhattan and Queens, this bridge is my favorite bridge to take, since there is no toll for either way. The traffic on this bridge can be treacherous, and the motorists are often very aggressive (definitely think of the use of: horns, lights, cutting in and out of lanes, the failure to obey traffic signals and turn signals, and rude gestures), but it sure beats the need to pay a toll when a person goes either way with most of the other bridges that connect Manhattan and the Bronx to Queens and to Brooklyn. The air is probably not that great, but the views are beautiful. The officers who direct the traffic usually make it worse, in my opinion. This bridge goes over Roosevelt Island, as well, but there is no connection to Roosevelt Island by this bridge. I did not like the walkway, because it is too narrow for both bicyclists and pedestrians, and I have dealt with many delinquents at night on that trail. I did feel safe when I walked around the adjacent areas in Queens and in Manhattan.

We crossed the bridge on a Sunday afternoon. There was a small amount of traffic but nothing crazy. Going home in the opposite direction, it took about twenty minutes to cross. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Queensboro Bridge is one of the many ways to get onto the Island of Manhattan. It will take you from 2nd Avenue to Queens and is quite a busy bridge. As well as cars and trucks being able to use the bridge pedestrians and cyclists also have a designated thoroughfare.

One of the best ways to see the bridge is to ride the cable car to Roosevelt Island. This runs alongside the bridge and you get some great views of the bridge and cross the East River.

The bridge crosses Roosevelt Island but there is no direct access to the bridge from the island. You can get some great pix of the bridge from this island and also from Manhattan itself.

A magnificent piece of engineering!

Queensborough Bridge is an older bridge and it’s for a lot of attractions related to its construction. The photos show it well! See attached.

The Queensboro Bridge is an ideal option when crossing the East River from Queens. From the Long Island Expressway, you must navigate the local streets to Queensboro Plaza in LIC. There are two levels which alleviates traffic. Best part is there is no toll!

In the last couple of years, the bridge was renamed "The Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge". Ed Koch was the mayor of NYC nearly 40 years ago. I had the pleasure of meeting him 12 years. He is a very polite, funny man.

We could see this bridge from our hotel room in Long Island City so naturally wanted to walk over it.

According to Wikipedia

Completed in 1909, it connects the neighborhood of Long Island City in the borough of Queens with the Upper East Side in Manhattan, passing over Roosevelt Island. The bridge is also known as the 59th Street Bridge because its Manhattan end is located between 59th and 60th streets.

Is a really lovely bridge to walk over with a bike lane used by e scooters too

Worth a walk over for the views

Adam was a great guy, deserves a promotion! Full satisfied with the experience of a lifetime that only cost me 15$. I definitely will return in the future, although upsetting it's not for women. :(

Queensboro Bridge is a beautiful structure. This time we walked over the bridge. It’s actually a big dangerous as there are bikes and motor cycles / battery powered bikes flying along and don’t give walkers any room. Didn’t like it overall.

The Queensborough Bridge and it’s tramway is an iconic structure. It’s clunky and in many ways could be considered ugly. I think it’s great!
