    Really worth the visit!
I followed the standard tour with start at Battery Park to Liberty Island (do a little walk there) then go to Ellis Island (did the museum) then took the ferry back to Battery Park. This tour is really worth the money! $ 24.50 for the ferry trips and entrance to the museum. Interesting museum about arrivals at Ellis Island and immigration to the US. The museum was easy and logical to visit with the free audioguide machine (pro-tip: take 3.5 mm wired headphones, it makes it way more comfortable to listen)

    Fascinating and informative museum
Utterly fascinating museum in a building that oozes memories, hopes, dreams and disappointments. The story of how immigration has build modern-day USA is told effectively and sensitively with primary sources used to bring the story to life. The impact upon the Native Americans is not forgotten. There was almost too much to take in and I feel like I need to go back to finish it off.

    So much history!
Lovely museum with lots to see and learn. Be sure to plan your visit throughout the museum's three floors. Great exhibits displaying how immigrants were processed upon arrival through their release (or denial) into the US. The classic massive registration hall holds a lot of history and is a sight in itself. The registration lookup area contains computer terminals which you can reserve and use (for a $10 fee) where you can lookup those who have been processed there. There is a gift shop as well as a cafe in the museum.

    Highlight of our NYC trip!
We did the Hard Hat Tour to see the hospital along with the public areas of the museum. The Hard Hat Tour did not disappoint. It was FANTASTIC and I would do it again in a heartbeat. It was amazing to see and know the history of Ellis Island

    Private hard hat tour
Well worth taking the hard hat tour that takes you to the abandoned hospital. Our guide was great and the sight throws you back in time. Small groups only. Bonus:the hospital grounds are full of the well known JR french street artist pieces!

Honestly, you can skip this stop and head right back to New York after visting the statue of liberty. Uninteresting and disappointing.

My wife and I visited Ellis Island Immigration Museum after seeing the Statue of Liberty. It was fascinating to see the old photos of people arriving in a new country with hope of starting a different life.

To be honest we only visited Ellis Island and the Immigration Museum because it was free as part of the ferry ticket to get to the Statue of Liberty but once inside my husband and I were fascinated - we spent much longer than intended viewing areas of the museum and learning about the immigration process - it was really interesting and we were really glad we went.

Found the museum really informative and logical. The timelines were well thought out and nicely displayed, interspersed with a variety of contributions including personal accounts, facts and figures, etc

Waiting hours for a dirty, crowded boat that smelled like sewer was a disappointment. Then, the museum was under-whelming. I think that this museum needs some major upgrades. Considering it is a flag-ship symbol of our country-the experience was a fail. What an embarrassment and poor reflection on our nation.
