Neighbourhood: Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

    Good park in summer
Heart of NY and a must visit place during summer season. In winters , it’s not a park , and is more like a commercial place :) lots of shops , eateries and of course the winter ski 🎿 area in the center of the park . I like it in summer . Green and love to take a walk here . Very close to Times Square, NY library and other places in NY . Restrooms available and is generally crowded ! Expensive food and other things around . There is a train station near . Overall a very good place . Paid parkings around .

    Great lunch spot
Beautiful park for lunch! The street along Bryant Park has so many to go style eateries- so it’s easy to grab a meal & eat at the park. The park was beautiful with lots of benches, tables & seats. We enjoyed our lunch along with many other people enjoying the park on a sunny day.

    Green space in Manhattan
A must visit park when travelling to NYC; located in Manhattan adjacent to the New York Public Library and surrounded by many iconic skyscrapers. Bryant park offers free seating (chairs and tables), table tennis and play ground. There are many bakery and waffles shops on the corner so do not miss that. Also Whole Food Market is on the other side of the street so perhaps you can buy your lunch from the food hall then go to eat it at Bryant Park. Grand Central is nearby Bryant Park. Google for Bryant Park events and activities schedule: live performances and free movies are being played. Highly recommended.

    Perfect City Park
As about as perfect as a city park gets. Plenty of benches and tables or relax on the well-manicured lawn if the weather is nice. Surrounded by a beautiful cityscape and adjacent to the New York City Public Library. There is a section of the park where you can play chess, checkers or other games. There is a cafe in the park with outdoor seating and where you can enjoy a bite or a cocktail. There are also numerous food options around the park including a Whole Foods. You can grab some coffee or lunch and enjoy it in the park as you take in the scene.

Great location for a coffee break!
Super nice park in Midtown to relax for a while! There are shops on all sides where you can buy a coffee and pastries and then sit down in the park and relax! Very quiet, although actually in the middle of the city. Very positive, there are restrooms for men and women at Bryant Park! The Bryant Park metro station is right on the corner, with all other connections.

    Small pretty park with stalls
We stopped by this park when another event did not work out. We were greeting by a beautiful fountain that looks like a bouquet. We could have browsed around several stalls and eaten at the park as well. Good location right next to the subway.

An oasis in a bustling city
My wife and I went to Bryant Park on the last evening of our wedding anniversary trip to NYC this past summer. It is an oasis in a bustling city. We enjoyed a dinner at Bryant Park Grill. It culminated an enjoyable visit.

Beautiful spot for a morning coffee
This is the second time we have booked a hotel near Bryant Park. I really enjoy grabbing breakfast at one of the nearby bakeries or cafes and taking it to enjoy in the park. A relaxing morning sipping coffee watching the pigeon and dogs is the perfect way to start my vacation days in the city.

    Wonderful oasis in busy city
We think it's amazing such a lovely and quite big green space and well planted with different plants, flowers or shrubs, and wonderful trees. When we visited it there was a live classical music event with plenty people sitting and listening on the central grassy area or on the chairs near the restaurants. It was amazingly clean, we haven't seen any litter at all. Plenty tables with chairs or like director's chairs with own side table - you can borrow them, I guess free of charge as we saw nobody around a big pile of them. There is carousel, many kiosks, toilets, from the information display we learned about some events. If I would live in NYC this would be one of my favourite outdoor spots.

New York knows how to do parks. Bryant Park is a tree-shaded oasis of calm next to the Public Library, which is also worth a visit. The Bryant Park Cafe and the Bryant Park Grill are excellent places to dine at a reasonable cost (for New York). You'll encounter jugglers showing off, people playing chess and ping pong and a homeless person or two, but mostly couples and families hanging out on blankets on the grass. Everything is clean and well-kept.

The park is convenient to few hotels. During the winter, the Christmas Shopping village is pleasant to walk through. There is a bar, albeit pricey, where you can have a drink and watch the skaters from a heated seat. And of course, ice skating. During the summer there isn’t as much going on and it becomes just a place to sit and relax. Bathroom facilities are close to nonexistent as is parking.

Bryant Park is a lovely green area in the middle of wild New York. As soon as you step in you feel transported to another, beautiful world. There is a French touch to it and the place is full of visitors enjoying their time. There are many seats to rest in and on the day we visited there was a huge chess competition!. There are cafes and other activities people can do. There is a lot of history in this park as well.

I have known about the Winter Village for a while and visited the Christmas market and the ice rink several times in the past. That was always - and still is - a cool experience.
However, this year I booked a Cozy Igloo for the 1st time, and… that was the most disappointing experience I ever had in New York!
While I understand that it must cost quite a bit to set these up and have them be all warm and cozy, the ambiance and the food experience could use some major TLC!
- The igloos look nice at first, with a "fake fireplace" and a pretty décor around the overhead light. They feel warm as soon as you get in, but that is the extent of what is sold to you as a "cozy" feeling... because once you sit down and start looking around, it is one of the tackiest experiences you will ever have.
- If you have a party of 8, 4 people will not be cozy because the igloos come with 4 comfortable armchairs and 4 uncomfortable “kitchen” chairs.
- I had to start by removing some really tacky items from the table: a Delta flyer standing upright in a sign holder right in the middle of the table; a motel-style box with plastic forks, paper napkins and condiments presented in little packets like those you get at McDonald’s;
- But the ultimate rip off is definitely the food:
o Igloos are booked as a package for 4 people or more. There were only 2 of us. While we knew the offered were limited and definitely not fancy, we at least expected to still be served food for 4, since that is what I paid for. However, the staff immediately told us that they would not serve food for 4 if only 2 people show!!! Had I known that - and that the food was served in to-go containers! - I would have picked 2 people from the park, offered them to join us for a short while, given them their to-go containers and at least felt like I was getting what I paid for!
o Not allowing 2 people to choose 2 different meals is also insanely tacky and rude. How hard can it be to prepare 3 chicken fingers and a charcuterie plate? Why is it so inconvenient for the kitchen to make guests happy and give them the choice of a mixed selection?
o While in the end having only 3 chicken fingers was enough for me and my niece and our small appetite, I can’t see how my husband would have been satisfied if he had joined us.
o The presentation made it all look like a very cheap and tacky meal.
- Something that cannot be avoided I assume, but if you get one of the lower igloos - like we did - you are right on the path of people visiting the park and really feel like you are “on display”, with many taking pictures of you looking like fools in what first attracts people because it looks fancy from afar, but clearly looks tacky when they come closer and see you all dressed up to eat out of to-go boxes with McDonald’s type food and condiments.

Overall: an experience we hated and would not recommend.

A little more class in the service and the presentation would go a long way.

We walked to Bryant Park after dining at Hard Rock Cafe. It was Christmas Eve so a double decker bus was circling the block while carolers were singing on the upper level. There were lots of lights and decorations. I wasn't that interested in the small shops since so many people seem to sell candles, soaps and jewelry (no matter where I go.) Worth stopping by if you're in the area but not worth making a special trip just to see this.

Hi there,

Me and my husband stayed at this hotel for one night. We wanted to have something special as it was his 31st birhtday. We booked our Deluxe Queen room with exterior (park) views and it was fantastic.

When we arrived, we realized that a mistake was made at some stage and we did not have the room we booked, the receptionist John changed it for the Deluxe Queen room with exterior views and kept the original price.

The room was fantastic with shower and bath, big bathroom, lots of natural light, TV, wifi, plugs, hairdresser, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion, towels and ropes, everything you could ask for and more. A truly 4 star hotel. The views were impressive, even more at night and it was totally worth it to pay for the exterior view.

The room was tidy and clean. Everything was placed perfectly.

The location is fantastic if you want to travel around NYC.

In conclusions, for what I have seen in NY and other hotels I have been for more or less the same price as this one, I highly recommend the Bryant Park Hotel if you are planning to stay in a nice hotel in NYC

I visited Bryant Park in October 2023 as I wanted to check out New York Public Library. It's really easy to find as it's in Midtown and the New York streets are fairly easy to navigate.

When I arrived I found the whole area covered with stalls that were sadly closed as well as possible locations for bars. It seems they were getting an early start on the Christmas markets and although not yet open infrastructure was being put in place.

There were benches and the stalls were tastefully set up around the trees.

Hope it goes well.

A lush green park in the most central part of Manhattan, between 5th, 6th and 42nd streets, next to Times Square. On the side of the park facing 5th Avenue is the New York Public Library building. The 6th street side, that is, the back side of the library, is an area with features that distinguish it from dozens of other parks. The most important difference is that there is a large stage in the park and concerts, cultural or artistic events are held almost every day here or at any of the other points of the park. You can see this list of events on which day and at what time when you go to the park. In addition, there are dozens or hundreds of tables and chairs in the park placed by the local government. During your trip to Manhattan, sit down to rest and breathe, see the liveliness, dynamism, people around you, watch one of the events if you can find it, see how different life can feel, live the moment, enjoy it.

Bryant Park is a beautiful green park amid the New York City buildings and includes at one end the Public Library. Shady corners with self-service tables and chairs allow you to rest and forget the hubbub of the city. You can also buy drinks or attend concerts depending on the day. A little oxygen bubble in the middle of the buildings.
