- Trip7930501 contributionVery friendly hotel with great customer serviceI had so much fun at the Hyatt! Very nice hotel and centrally located to so many things. Everytime I came back to the hotel, Donnie was there to greet us at the door. He was welcoming and made us feel special. On the last night of our stay, another Hyatt employee, Ethan, was also at the door. Their welcoming smiles made a sometimes impersonal city feel smaller and fun!Visited March 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 25 March 2023

Great place to stop by if you happen to be in the area. It’s particularly beautiful in spring as it’s surrounded by cherry trees and tulips.Visited May 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 May 2023

Manhattan is dotted with small urban parks that offer places of respite for locals and tourists. Union Square, a more well-known one, is another example. Apart from the market, tourists may find it unappealing.

Stopped by for official business reporting to uphold and enforce our immigration laws at USCIS. The team is extremely helpful and the area is clean and organized. Proud to be an American forever! Frauds & green card diggers must stay away from my country! A huge thank you to the team working hard to keep us all safe!

Abs

If the choice were to stay near union square or upper west side near Central Park which would be the better choice as for nearby attractions, restaurants, ease of walking to 911 museum & new tower.

I personally think Union Square is too far from the Freedom Tower and 911 to walk to. Central Park is even further away. In either case you'll be most likely using the subway or taxi. Central Park is close to the Museum mile (Met, Moma, Frick, Natural History) and Columbus Circle. Union Square is closer to Greenwich Village, Soho, China Town, Empire State Building, Highline. Rockefeller Center, Times Square, and Broadway are in between the two locations you mentioned. As far as restaurants go, regardless of where you stay, there's an overabundance of places to eat in any price range.
