Neighbourhood: Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

    It's worth the visit
Worth knowing. Unfortunately I didn't go at Christmas time to see the tree. But I got to see the ice skating rink. The place brings back memories of movies. I didn't visit the rooftop because I decided to go to the Summit. The building is very beautiful.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us! We're glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit and that the ice skating rink brought back memories of movies for you. We hope you'll have the chance to visit us again during the Christmas season to see the tree and explore the rooftop. Your kind words are greatly appreciated!

    Iconic Rockefeller Center
Rockefeller Center is a complex that includes 19 buildings and covers several blocks in Midtown Manhattan with "30 Rock" being the central focus. Built in the 1930s by the Rockefeller family, it is an Art Deco masterpiece. Inside is the NBC studios where the Today Show, NBC Nightly News, Jimmy Fallon, and Saturday Night Live are filmed. Top of the Rock is the observation deck on top of 30 Rock. The views are amazing and while the historic skyscraper is not as famous or as attractive as the Empire State Building, I would argue that the views are better including the incredible unobstructed view of the Empire State Building when looking south. This is also where you fill find iconic Rockefeller Plaza with the outdoor skating rink and Christmas tree during the winter months.
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed and positive review of Rockefeller Center! We're thrilled to hear about your wonderful experience and that you enjoyed the amazing views from Top of the Rock. We hope to welcome you back soon for more memorable moments at this iconic landmark.

    Great views
Great experience, we attended On a rainy day not expecting much of a view due to it been a last minute booking. Even with the rain it had amazing views. There are two viewing floors and you can pay extra to do the famous picture, which we didn’t do due to the weather. Accessible for wheelchairs and prams, although the toilets in the Rockefeller tower didn’t have changing facilities for babies as the doors where locked to it and knowbody in site to ask to open. Overall good for the view.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us, Olivia. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the amazing views from our two viewing floors, despite the rainy weather. We appreciate your feedback regarding the accessibility for wheelchairs and prams, as well as the issue with the locked doors in the Rockefeller tower. We will address this promptly to ensure a better experience for all our guests. We hope to welcome you back soon for another enjoyable visit.

A very nice, busy and fun place
It was one of the most pleasant surprises of our seven days in New York. We were walking along Fifth Avenue (because as I always say, the best thing about this city is WALKING, because that's the best way to enjoy it) and we came across this Rockefeller Center and, above all, Rockefeller Plaza. It was wonderful! Very good music, a lot of people, very pleasant atmosphere, there were people playing Cornhole (a game of throwing bags into a hole that is very cool), the fountain, the sculptures, etc. Anyway, we liked everything!
We are thrilled to hear that you had such a positive experience at Rockefeller Center! It sounds like you truly enjoyed all the different aspects of the plaza. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us, we hope to see you again soon!

Iconic plaza of Rockefeller Center is worth seeing
My wife and I walked over to Rockefeller Center from our hotel during our anniversary trip to NYC this past summer. We didn’t take the time to do a tour. We just walked around the plaza area and took in the sights. It was neat to see in person what we have seen on television for years.
Thank you for sharing your experience at Rockefeller Center during your anniversary trip to NYC! We're glad to hear you enjoyed the atmosphere and sights of the plaza area. If you ever decide to come back for a tour, we'd love to have you!

Rockefeller Center at night is magical! The beautiful lights, the famous rink, and knowing it's home to Jimmy Fallon make it an iconic NYC experience. The views are stunning and capture the city's vibrant energy. A must-visit for anyone in New York!

One of the greatest projects of the Great Depression era
There is something specials about every moment you spend at Rockefeller Center from the historic art and architecture to the observation deck. Described as one of the greatest projects of the Great Depression era, located at 45 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, it is a complex of 19 commercial buildings covering 22 acres between 48th Street and 51st Street in Midtown Manhattan. Construction began in 1931 and the first building opened in 1933. Today, the 14 original Art Deco buildings span the area between Fifth Avenue and Sixth Avenue, split by a large sunken square and private street called Rockefeller Plaza. There is so much to see. In the 1949 movie "On the Town," Frank Sinatra, Gene Kelly and Jules Munshin, three sailors on shore leave, didn't see it all in 24 hours. Start at the Channel Gardens, the plaza's main entrance, a 60-feet wide, 200-feet long pedestrian esplanade. Other notable buildings are Radio City Music Hall, RCA building, RKO building, British Empire building, Time & Life building, the famous ice skating rink and the Prometheus statue, the 1934 masterpiece by sculptor Paul Manship. And, of course, in December everybody shows up to see the Rockefeller Christmas tree. It is New York's picture postcard.
Taylor, we're thrilled to hear you had such an amazing experience at Rockefeller Center! It truly is a historic and iconic destination in the heart of New York City. Thank you for sharing your positive review, we hope to welcome you back again soon for more unforgettable moments.

    Great Historic Shopping Centre
This is our second visit to New York. And every visit, the Rockfeller Center was decorated in a different way. It is a center that is always in transformation! Space for trade, artistic presentation, demonstrations and meeting point, worth a visit at the end of the afternoon, to complement with a visit to the Top of the Rock and take a picture of the illuminated Empire State!
Hi Eduardo, thank you for sharing your experience at Rockefeller Center! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the ever-changing atmosphere and found it to be a worthwhile visit. Your tip about visiting in the late afternoon to capture a photo from Top of the Rock Observation Deck is fantastic! Hope to see you again soon!

Great Urban Design, Take a Tour
One of my favorite neighborhoods in Manhattan because of the excellent urban design. It was built as a new town in the middle of the city during the Depression. Risky plan, but it worked out eventually as the buidlings are so beautiful, the location so superb. Arrange for a guided tour to understand all of the details, some of which you might miss on a casual visit. Fountains, art deco, sculpture, decorations, soaring skyscrapers, plus some good good and drink. Great area.

A visit worth a visit, incredible view from the terrace
Rockfeller Center is a building that began construction in early 1930 and has become one of the tallest buildings in New York and especially an iconic piece in terms of its style, stature, cinematic references and history. Its magnificent 360° terrace offers an incredible view of South Manhattan in Central Park. If there is only one building to visit in New York, it may be this one. Beautiful view also of the State building empire!

You will come across a group of high-rise buildings on 5th Avenue and a large courtyard with a pool, statues and a skating rink between the buildings. There are dozens of people skating to the accompaniment of constant music, the surroundings are lively and crowded at all hours of the day. There is a high quality, clean, private shopping mall underneath, shops, restaurants, cafes, you can visit the market, have something to eat and take a breather, it is very enjoyable. If you wish, you can go to the observation deck, we did not prefer it because we took pictures of Manhattan from the 100th floor of the EDGE NY building and enjoyed it. Also, there is a Lego store at the entrance of the center, there was a queue every time we passed by it, it is really interesting. Take your time, have fun

I’ve been here a few times for different reasons, but this trip I wanted to stop by and see the Christmas tree while it’s still up in early January. It’s absolutely gorgeous! We stopped by later in the evening after seeing a show (and it was raining) so it was pretty cleared out. Definitely a sight to see if you’ve never seen it!

The staff at the Rockefeller were the friendliest of all of the people we interacted with during a three day stay in New York. As a person who is terrified of heights and lifts we had absolutely no plans to do anything but walk around and have something to eat, however, I knew my husband would love to go up to the top so I lingered near the entrance plucking up courage to suggest it. We were spoken to by a lovely young lady called Caminta ( sincere apologies for the spelling but I was in a high state of panic!) . Long story short...She gave me confidence to give it a go. I think she knew how frightened I was so once we had paid for the tickets she got us in the lift immediately before I chickened out!! I cannot describe the sense of elation that I had once I was up there and looking across New York. Even now I don't know how I did it. All of the staff were wonderful so this was our best MY experience. Thank you everyone!!

I come to the top of the rock everytime I’m in the city. The views are incredible and you can go outside and feel the city air. However on this visit we booked express passes and it was not worth the money. The only fast part was not having to queue outside. You are herded in, the queues on the way down are not managed well. We paid for the champagne toast and after another queue we were handed approx half a glass of champagne in a plastic up and moved on. Again not worth the money

We booked the observation deck but it was a waste of money as it was raining and you couldn't see a thing. We could not reschedule as apparently they were fully booked and they have a no refund policy. Lost $80, staff couldn't care less, clearly this happens a lot and they just make money for nothing. Typical Rockefeller I guess !

We visited the Rockefeller Centre both day and night. I have given an average revue as the magic of the place is taken away by the overcrowding

Night
We visited the Rockefeller Plaza at night to see the tree, the crowds were insane and I have to say a little unnerving. At one point there were barriers put across the street to keep the crowds in one area which I didn't understand as when you had seen the tree you wanted to walk away and get out of the crowd but we couldn't and everyone was stuck for quite sometime, finally people pushed the barriers out of the way and the crowd moved. If it is like that every night around Christmas I would avoid going again and especially if I had children with me.
The tree however was spectacular, beautiful and did not disappoint

Day
A lot less crowded during the day around the tree area but off course the lights do not look as pretty but at least you could get close enough to see the tree and the ice rink
We also passed through the centre inside so we could go to Top Of The Rock. This I would recommend booking in advance as even trying to book the morning of that day all the slots where booked and we had to book for the next day.
I have to say inside the Rockefeller building on the ground level it is also chaotic, understaffed and hot and the que from the ladies toilets was out the door and a long way from the toilet entrance so don't get caught short.
We did visit The Top Of The Rock which was awesome and so well done but I will review that under Top Of The Rock.

Amazing views. No waiting at all, but make sure to go there early in the morning (we went there at 10am). Would recommend Rockefeller observation deck instead of Empire State Building (only half the price, less people, great views to Central Park and Empire State Building).

Actually famous in winter, the largest Christmas tree in the world is always here. But very crowded, streams of tourists wherever you look, some of the restaurants are outrageously expensive (e.g. pizza +50 dollars), a short stay is enough

I would recommend everyone visiting NYC for the first time to rather visit the Rockefeller Center because it has an amazing view on top of the Empire state building. The negative aspect lies in the intensely high priced tickets, but won't differ from the Empire State building. Definitely recommend of going on top as it is one of the bucket lists items that needs to be done!

Historic point of New York famous for the ice rink and the lighting of the Christmas Tree, the statue of Prometheus and more. I was there in those days but I certainly did not stand in line in the middle of the crowd to see the tree light up. I saw him the next day. I thought he was older. And by the way, I've seen more beautiful trees both in New York and elsewhere. The nice thing was the star on top. Apart from that, Rockefeller center is a complex of 19 buildings that is a city within the city, The Big Apple and definitely worth seeing.
