Large variety of sizes for tasting

Great craft beer variety with a fantastic atmosphere! Stopped in on a Thursday afternoon right after opening and there was no one there. We ordered our beer and went out on the patio to enjoy our drinks. We tried the Pilsner and two of the iPAs. They offer a wide variety of sizes in each. Large size tasting room with games and some merchandise available. Fun place.

Delicious

Last stop in San Diego and it was worth it. Bartender was helpful and friendly. Tap room is laid back and the music is loud but not offensively so. You can tell there are regulars who come in on their Friday afternoons to read or hang out. The Pupil was as delicious and smooth as expected. The Pugilist was strong and smooth. The Pupil in the crowler held up well when we had it two days later at home.

Tasters

Quite impressive when you walk in! Bartender lacked sense of humor but nevertheless they have an eye opener savory imperial stout! Very clean and love the 80’s music. Wife didn’t find sgirt size but she was happy with tasters!!

Good beer

Looks like a local favorite. Good beer. I like the set up but definitely not anything fancy. No food, but they do have a food truck outside. I had the Pupil and the Apprentice. Both good but not anything special.

If you had to travel a bit to get here I would skip. If you live locally I would definitely recommend to try it.

If you like Belgian Beer, this is the place

I’ve been a huge fan of Lost Abbey for years, and we check out 2-3 new breweries in the San Diego area every year. That being said, this is one of the better ones we have found in a while. We tasted the full spectrum from IPA to Stout to Ferals and found that everything across the board was solid.

Killer Brews

Stayed at the Hampton Inn about a 5 min walk away, found this place by accident looking at the map. Glad I did, the beers were awesome and the tasting room huge, you can't go wrong, they make something for every beer lover. The Apprentice was my favorite, it's a great reason to stay nearby when I'm in town. Very large place in an office park, and they give tours on Saturday.

Really interesting beers

Group of forty took over Societe on a Monday night. Lots of options for different tastes. The Czech Pilsner was good for lighter tastes. The stouts were heavy and filling. Atmosphere was good with a product display wall and prices right there for shopping.

Pupil and Apprentice
Jun 2018
I tried many beers, but Pupil and apprentice were my favorites. It is a big place, has a spot to park your car and also sometimes they have some really good food trucks outside of the building. Nice brewery to visit if you are nearby.

Try The Pupil and a Feral, enjoy the experience
Apr 2018 • Solo
I stopped in here on a southern California taproom tour and was impressed with their beers. They only allow 2 tasters at a time, which keeps your beer from getting warm while you sample. I tried several but settled on The Pupil as one of my favorites, a 7.5% beer that drinks as smooth as a lager, could be dangerous. They also brew a variety called a "Feral" which is bit like a sour beer but not a sour. It's funky, tart and interesting, worth a try if you like to explore. Friendly taproom, my only comment is that I was looking for some food while sampling here and was a bit surprised that they are surrounded by Pho restaurants...Not what I was in the mood for but can go well together.
