cowards

bunch of cowards here, outdoor activity but you need a tee time and have a limit on groups, I came with my family a group of 6 and was rudely turned away by the person working the front, I wont be returning and will choose other disc golf options in the future.

Disc Golf
Mar 2019
This was my first ever pay to play disc golf course and it was well worth it. Very well maintained grounds and a ton of different basket locations. It’s one of the original disc golf courses and you can definitely see why it’s popular. It was busy and I’m glad I went on a weekday. My local guide (nice random local, shoutout to Mike!) said weekend rounds can take three hours. Great pro shop and nice community. Worth the stop if you’re a disc golfer and have the time for sure. Also, you can rent discs so if you can pack yours it’s pretty cheap to get a couple forms round.

Disc Golf Course is Great
Aug 2018 • Solo
I was visiting San Diego for the weekend and decided to play 18 holes of disc golf. I woke up early and made my way to the course. I figured I'd have the place to myself at 6:30 AM, however there were already several people at the course when I arrived. I paid my 4 greens fee - never had to do that before - at the clubhouse, and started my round. I am from Kansas City, and this course was a new type of course for me. The SoCal vegetation made the round extremely enjoyable. There are a variety of different types of throws you have to use. The average length per hole is probably right at 300 feet, and each hole has several alternate pin locations. All around a very enjoyable round of Disc Golf.

BONUS Hole: There is a 19th Hole on this course.

Always enjoyable

The hiking trails aren't taxing, but they are hiking trails, right in the
Middle of the city, so relax and enjoy them!
Beautiful views abound here, not to mention lots of tennis courts and a huge public swimming pool.

Great place to practice and set up your yardages. Bring your own targets and a hat for the summer months, pretty warm. Well kept and ample area to shoot.

BALBOA TENNIS CLUB
Mar 2017 • Couples
Wow, what a find! This truly is an unbelievable tennis area. We did the drop in fee ($10.00 p.p. for the entire day/$8.00 for seniors). We were immediately given a court to play singles on and then went to the challenge court (there were 2 challenge courts for intermediate levels and one for 4.5 level) and were able to start playing doubles with club members. If you don't have anyone to play with, no worries because you will be paired up with someone on the challenge courts. Everyone there was very kind to us. Even though we had only been there for a few minutes, the club director, Colleen, came up and greeted us warmly and gave us a bit of background on the club. I wish that I could join here full time, but I'll do the next best thing, which is to make sure to return next time that I am in S.D. and play often. By the way, if you can't get the tennis channel at your hotel or AIRBNB and want to watch the Indian Wells tournament while you are in California, go to the clubhouse at Balboa tennis club. They had it running the entire time. Thank you for that, too.

So much to do at Morley Field. You can picnic, have large outdoor parties, take your dog for a run, play Frisbee golf, sunbathe, people watch, there's a pool, a velodrome, and hiking trails nearby.

Balboa Tennis Club. The jewel of Morley Field. Best Tennis Public tennis facility in the country!
Dec 2016
This is a tennis player's dream club. 25 professional quality hard courts with top notch lighting, including a stadium court that probably seats 500 fans. All for around $300 a year. That includes being able to reserve courts a week in advance. oleen, the manager of the club has done tremendous things to improve the overall tennis experience for both beginner and open level players alike.
The Pro Shop is owned and operated by Geoff Griffin and his lovely family, ranging from the grandparents who are in their 90's down to the 22 year old grand daughter whose now giving tennis lessons. Plus there are about a dozen teaching pros that offer both group and individual lessons at reasonable prices.

You're always made to feel welcome at Balboa Tennis Club.
