Neighbourhood: Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.

    Must visit historical landmark.
This is an amazing historical church. We were blessed to visit while the amazing church choir was practicing. So happy we walked in to take a moment to reflect on the great Christian leaders who built this country. The church is older than the U.S. so you can imagine the history.

Serene, spiritual experience with great choir
Really gorgeous, peaceful, historical church in the heart of Boston. Come, sit, and take in the serenity and peace of this church; you won't be hassled or interrupted. The choir is superb and deserves its wonderful reputation.

    Quick visit
My hotel gave us free tickets to go to Trinity Church so thought it be worth visiting. It’s a nice church with a lot of history and quite grand. I’m afraid to say that if you’ve visited the churches and cathedrals in Europe, this church may not be as exciting so keep expectations in check. I would’ve liked to listen to the choir if I had the chance. Not sure the admission price is worth it, but certainly worth visiting if you get free tickets.

This grand, historic building never fails to catch my eye…I’ve passed by it so many times walking around Boston and finally had the chance to do a self guided tour on my last visit! Walking around these church grounds feels like walking around the ancient European cities and makes you forget you’re in Boston lol!

The building itself was constructed in the late 1800s but the congregation was established all the way back in 1733! It always blows my mind how historic Boston is! The exterior is covered in so many intricate carvings including gargoyles, depicting saints, and telling various stories.

Tickets for the self guided tours are $10 (as of October 2023) and include a pamphlet with info on the points of interest and a site map. There’s a gift shop at the entrance and the staff are super friendly! There were even quite a few free posters of the church.

Inside is very grandiose and beautiful- tons of stained glass panels, a giant organ, a massive cross hanging above the ornate altar and surrounded by a rotunda of lovely stained glass windows - definitely worth a visit.

They also offer walking tours and guided tours at various times listed in their website, as well as occasional organ concerns open to the public.

The church is located right in Copley Square and is definitely worth visiting if you enjoy history and especially ornate architecture. It’s handicap accessible with plenty of space inside to maneuver. I visited on a Tuesday afternoon and almost had the place to myself. Lovely visit - highly recommend!!

We weren't sure what to expect at Trinity Church, by Copley Square. But from the first step inside the door, we realized that it was someplace special. Trinity had been built sometime in the late 19th Century, and its style both inside and out is quite unique. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and were suprised at how few other visitors there were. But that was just as well, since it was quiet and peaceful within, conducive to just sitting for a while in reflection and to appreciating quietly the interior which seems both ornate and simple at the same time.
Unlike the more well-known Gothic style, that of Trinity is more Romanesque; that is, an older form with rounded arches and barrel vaulting. However, there are many lovely stained glass windows along both sides, and a large pipe organ above the entrance portal and in the left transcept, was playing quietly (well, quietly, as organs go...) nearly the entire time we were there.
The staff were all pleasant and helpful. The admission price for a "self-guided tour" was $10 a person, and we did not begrudge the amount for an instant. This reviewer, for one, would have gladly paid twice that for the privilege of seeing this distinctive and lovely church up close.

Beautiful church but $40 for a family of four is extremely overpriced. I thought the church would be bigger than it was and more detailed. I thought the price was absurd for a church since the beginning but rationalized it as “well be here for at least an hour, so it’s fine.” Nope! 15 minutes later and we were done.

Save your money and just do Old South Church at the other end of Copley. Free and has a similar look.

Right in the middle of historic Boston, so you can't claim it's out of your way. Stop in, pick up a guide brochure, and enjoy the magnificent Bourne Jones and other windows.

One thing that I always think is cool about this city is that you have the historic buildings mixed right in with the new ones.

Sunday morning, my wife and I attended their outdoor mass. Once the mass concluded we were able to visit the inside of the church and it was simple beautiful. The entire church grounds were priceless. There are many churches in Boston to visit but the Trinity Church was just simply special.
