Smells Bad There!
Dec 2020
This would be a very nice and beautiful place to visit, if it weren't for all the people hanging out, urinating and smoking weed. It reeks of marijuana and urine. There's a lot of graffiti on railings, trash cans, the ground, etc.

The view from the end of the pier was nice though, looking in both directions, to the bridge and to the bay.

GONE
Aug 2014 • Solo
The Rocketship is gone and has been replaced by another piece of "art" --- what a let down. I asked Parks and Rec where it had gone, but they were unsure (sold; storage....but not moved).

Victim of Location
Dec 2012 • Couples
The Raygun Gothic Rocketship is neat, but behind it, you have the Bay Bridge, which now has LED lights (super cool), and the city skyline at another angle. The Rocketship kind of gets drowned out in it's environment. Nevertheless, it's cool to see , but you'll forget it after you go down to the Ferry Building or to the Wharf. Don't get hung up on it, there's so much more to see!

COULDN,T BELIEVE MY EYES!

When I first saw this all I could think of was the sci-fi movies of the 1950's that I saw while growing up.
In todays films the kids think the special effects( in new movies) are really something but as a child I thought things like this was amazing!

Fun stop to make near Ferry Building Marketplace
Sep 2012 • Couples
We recently visited the Ferry Building Marketplace during a visit to San Francisco, spotting the odd-looking craft next to Pier 14 we had to have a look. This is the Raygun Gothic Spaceship which seems to be a temporary exhibit here but we couldn't find out when it is scheduled to be moved or disassembled. This is is quirky addition to the Embarcadero scene but makes a nice, 5 minute stop if you plan to visit this area. At the very least, it makes for some interesting photos with the Bay Bridge in the background.
