We tried going here on a weekend and it was packed, so we skipped it. We went back during the following week and were able to easily get parking. The beach is calm and has a large area to walk hip-deep amongst the coral. We highly recommend it for the less adventurous snorkelers.

We had no trouble parking at around 9am at the North End of the beach but it was filling up by the time we left an hour later. We wanted to snorkel Mala Wharf but the currents were too strong and the reef too shallow. Walked down to the calmer south end of the beach and it was defintely kiddo worthy conditions but not good snorkeling. Lahaina has lots to see and do though.

Beaches on Maui have strong waves. If you are looking for a calm beach with crystal clear waters, this is the beach to be.
We saw many fishes as well as a sea turtle. There are many families with small children on this beach as it is a great calm beach for children.
If you are coming from Lahaina, just catch the bus and stop at the safeway stop. 3rd stop from Lahaina warf cinema. Short walk from there. If you walked from Lahaina, will take you about 20mins.

We wanted to find a good beach for our seven and four-year-old where we wouldn’t stress over the tide and waves. We are so glad we came here I highly recommend not only visiting here or if you have Littles but I would totally stay close by to this beach Next time. There are literally no waves the water was crystal clear bring an awesome cooler or some snacks some drinks of your choice and enjoy

Incredibly calm water that's shallow enough to walk out a long way - perfect for kids. Ours aren't strong swimmers and felt safe here. There's some coral, so watch your toes, and the beach strip is narrow and can be fairly crowded, but we had no difficulty finding a place for our towels. A great place for a morning's play.

The name says it all... this is the perfect beach to bring young kids. Most beaches on Maui have pretty significant waves and undertow, but here, the kids could safely play in the water (with supervision). I was actually surprised to see a number of adult-only groups on the beach when we were there, because the kids make plenty of noise, but perhaps the calmer tides are more pleasant for sunbathers too!

Good beach, protected by reef and rocks, waves calm. But, wear water shoes! Reef very sharp, try to avoid stepping on them to protect them, but still rocky. You'll see turtles in the afternoon and evening! Good for families, just protect your feet and the reef.

This is THE place if you have young kids. There are no waves and they can wade far out (with water shoes.) Small fish swim around and we even saw a sea turtle swim right by. We had kids between ages 1 and 9 and they all had fun for hours.

Calm waters. If you want to have some time where kids leave you alone while you just sit in your chair, hands off and enjoy the view, this is it. The entrance was kinda small but it’s a great beach and popular for family pictures early in the morning.

Hard to find baby beach is a smallish beach on the bay that is great to swim and noodle around. Read a book, scroll the phone cause the wind is not too bad on this beach. Can get crowded as more families come.

Is there snorkel gear for rent at Baby beach or do we need to bring our own?
Written 22 February 2022
There is not snorkel gear to rent there. However you can rent at several local places, like Snorkel Bob that are nearby. Enjoy!

We stayed @ condos & drove to Baby Beach. We parked and walked around a wind break. The beach does back up to some lovely homes, but I'm not sure if they are available to rent. Enjoy your beach time!

Been to Baby beach a few times, but haven't found close bathrooms - where are the closest restrooms?
Written 1 September 2017
There are public restrooms on Unahiole Street, on the road to the Mala Ramp. This is a 2 min walk from the north end of the beach (at the old Mala Wharf, turn right), or you can walk down Ala Moana Street and turn left at the intersection. Bring your shoes!

Park at the corner of Kenui & Front St....(park on Kenui... Either next to the sidewalk in the designated parking spots or across the street on the dirt.) walk across Front Street toward the ocean. About 20 yards from the corner on the left you'll see a sign that says "beach access". Go down that concrete alley to Baby Beach
