This whole trip was a blast from start to finish! We did the morning trip to Lana'i starting at 6:30am, and it's definitely worth getting up early. We got some good breakfast served to us on the way, and once we got there we had the opportunity for some awesome snorkeling, some mini-hikes on the cliff side, and some good old-fashioned relaxing on the beach. Snacks, drinks, and lunch were also served to us before heading back. We also got an extra treat on the ride back by getting some yummy cocktails and ice cream! Thank you to Captain Turtle, Amanda, Steve, and Kat for making this trip so memorable and fun for people of all ages!

We went on a whale watching tour and had the most amazing time. The crew are incredible and so friendly. The ship was very comfortable. We saw whales right away and throughout the entire trip. I would highly recommend this tour with this company!!

We took a sunset whale watching cruise on 3/12 with Captain Sierra, Justin, Catherine, and PJ. The captain and crew were fantastic. Tons of knowledge about whales and the islands, fun stories of their experiences, great food, plenty of drinks, and overall awesome experience for my me, my husband, and our two kids (age 4 & 6). Captain even let them drive the boat and they had a “whale microphone” which was pretty incredible to hear. We really enjoyed this boat trip and will be sailing with Trilogy again! Thanks for the great memories!!

Captain Turtle and his team (big shout out to Kelly!) were great hosts on this trip to Lahaina to snorkel. New to boats and snorkeling, they made sure I was prepared and safe and took care to look after me and the rest of the passengers throughout the journey. The food was delicious! Overall great day.

We did the sunset cruise last night - the staff were super friendly and the trip itself was very memorable (incl seeing the whales!). Sunset off Maui is a show unto itself. Special shoutout to Catherine (Katherine?), aka Catherine Allison from Maine, the best hostess ever!

Captain Sierra and his crew were amazing. Food was great. Saw a bunch of whales and despite a rainy start got an amazing sunset. Thank you to the crew and captain.

My wife, daughter , and I did the Discover Lanai tour and it was awesome. Left promptly at 10 am and returned at 6 pm as advertised. The ship was amazing. Our captain Turtle was wonderful. Gena and Zach were super crew leaders and went above and beyond to make everything fantastic. Snorkeling was great, food was great, saw lots of whales, and they all just made you feel welcome. Highly recommend this group. First class operation!!

Did the snorkeling tour on March 3rd. The bost is gorgeous, the crew was incredible and couldn't have asked for a better trip!
Pros: the crew are fantastic, food and drinks are great, clean ship, good gear. We did SNUBA and Seamus was wonderful - highly recommend and worth the price. Our professional photos were affordable and keepers (I can't remember her name (I'm sorry!) but she was incredible and dove down to take pictures of us). Captain would stop for whales. We could hear whales singing
Cons: I wanted to stay on and SNUBA longer! (So not a con haha).
I highly recommend Trilogy and will be doing more of their excursions when we visit again!

If you do the snuba upgrade do you usually have enough time to snorkel too at the same stop, at molokini for example? It’s says snuba only lasts about 25 minutes.

For anyone who paid by credit card (ideally Chase), do you recall if this coded as Travel or Entertainment on your bill? Trying to determine which card will get me more points for booking our excursion. Thank you!

If I bring a camera where can I safely leave it while in the water snorkeling?

we left all our belongings on the beach while snorkeling. The crew was right there and there really was not any other people near us. I suppose it's not 100% secure but felt pretty safe.

In December is the water too rough to enjoy Molokini for snorkeling? What is the best location to snorkel in December ( I am a seasoned snorkeler) ? Or is it better to just take a whale watching excursion this time of year & at this location on the island?

I snorkel all the time in December and winter months and mornings the rides aren't to bad out to Molokini.
When you go on a snorkel cruise you will undoubtedly see whales on your way, most boats stop to watch the whales.

How long do you have on Lanai during the 8 hour Discover Lanai tour? Is it plenty of time to snorkel and walk/hike around a bit?

Hi there-thinking of signing up for the sunset sail out of Maalaea Harbor for a trip coming up in August. But i'm staying at a resort about 25 min south at Wailea. Curious how much a taxi costs for that drive to/from the harbor? There is another sunset sail through a company closer to the resort that provides transportation which is super convenient, but it's overall much pricier for the same 2-hrs of sailing. Trying to figure out if this is still a better value, even factoring in taxi rides from Wailea.
Any input would be appreciated!
Thanks! -Alyssa

We also rented a car. There were so many things to see all over the island. We reserved a car, kept checking rental car prices and rebooked, as prices went down.
