Contrary to guidance by multiple drivers and guides, there is NO arts and crafts market on Saturday since last June. There were, however many nearby shops, bars, and restaurants to soften the disappointment. We still had a great day in Lahaina.

This is one of the most unique trees I have seen in my life. Definitely stop by if you find yourself tired of browsing the shops in Lahaina, and enjoy its shade on a hot day.

The Banyan tree park in Lahaina is worth a visit ... it is an amazing tree with a significant history . Also being in Lahaina there is plenty of tourist shopping and restaurants.

A single tree that covers an acre? Really? REALLY! This is an amazing example of nature - and a beautiful place to visit after hitting a dozen or two of the Lahaina Town souvenir shops.

Planted in 1873 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Protestant missionaries in Lahaina, this massive specimen covers an entire acre! Check The Maui News and Lahaina Arts Society's website for arts fairs and events held here (free to the public).

We've been visiting Maui & Lahaina for over 20 years. My parents visited Lahaina in the 40s. The author Tim Robbins wrote about Lahaina in one of his books. All three of these life events had a common point. Shopping under the Banyan Tree. Now,...More

This is this most investing tree! It's so big and so old! It's a must see when visiting Maui. This park is a nice area!

The family spent the afternoon at Banya court. The kids loved the tree and all of the history. Lots of shade. Great place to hang out and have lunch.

This is one of the most impressive tree parks I have ever been in. The beauty of banyan trees in this park were really beyond expectations. Super, super interesting! Highly recommended.

Follow the smell of doobies burning among the homeless and mellow chilling in the Banyan Tree Park. This is by far the most gigantic tree we have ever seen among also the most unusual...thick branches winding and twisting and providing much needed shade for a...More

I don't know the answer to your question but if you can remember any store or restaurant names where he was around, I would call them and ask for help. If it was in the park, try calling the old courthouse.

I am going in October. I will look for him when I visit the park. If I get his contact info, I will forward it to you.
