- Allison H46 contributionsBest banana bread I've ever had!Amazing banana bread! The best I've ever had. Hot dogs and shave ice were tasty as well. Nice quick stop for lunch or a snack along the Road to Hana. To note, there are no restrooms here, so plan accordingly.Visited January 2023Written 1 February 2023
- imranmuOverland Park, Kansas19 contributionsMeh!Stopped here after reading a ton of reviews on how good the banana bread is. Most people in my group came to a conclusion that the Banana Bread at Starbucks is better. One person specifically said that it had a moldy smell to it. We also tried their Tuna sandwich which had sprouts instead of lettuce. Didn't find it good at all. Just give this place a pass and get the bread somewhere else.Visited March 2023Travelled with familyWritten 11 March 2023
- NapervilleTravellerNaperville, Illinois90 contributionsVery tasty treat on Road to HanaOn our Road to Hana trip, we were excited to take a break at Halfway to Hana. Wasn't sure what to get, other than the usual banana bread-THEN we saw the banana bread sundae, and that was it!! What a delicious treat, even though it was only 10 AM!! The bread was warm, the ice cream very tasty, and the macadamia nut topping was great. This was one of our highlights on the Road to Hana, along with all of the other beautiful sights along the road.Visited May 2023Written 6 June 2023

A much needed stop for mid drive snacks. The banana bread was sooo good. And the pineapple smoothies hit the spot! Staff was super friendly. Bring cash as you have to pay transaction fee if you use credit card.

We stopped here for some banana bread! I wouldn't say this is a must stop, which is why I'm giving it 3 stars. I more just suggest getting banana bread at some point along your journey down the Road to Hana. It makes for a nice treat!

It hurts me to say it but this place was very disappointing :/ if not for the cookie that tasted good I would have given it 1/5... the smoothie was awful, I really tried to give it a chance but it wasn't edible/drinkable
Considering there are so many options along the road to Hana and past it I think a lot of people "get excited," including us, about the catchy name Halfway to Hana... and end up being customers here... it's cash only and not inexpensive either, which is partially reasonable considering the location but at least the quality should match it... it was the worst cold treat we had between 4 major islands in 3 weeks on the Hawaii chain...
To make the matters worst there is no public restroom here! it's basically a front of someone's private property (actually really nice house) and not a true "food place" so to sell drinks/food and as the name implies being "a major milestone" the fact that the restrooms aren't available even to the patrons of this business was beyond sad to me...

Wonderful tasty coffee on the way to Hana. They accommodated my request for a mocha and it was so good! Easy access /pull off with parking lot right off the road!

Picked up banana bread and shave ice for the teens. But my favorite item was the pineapple smoothie-perfection! Wish they had been open on our way back to West Maui the next evening.

Since we started driving Hana Highway later in the day, this was our turnaround point. My recommendation: don't waste your money.
The food is ALL overpriced. The shaved ice was chunky and tasted like pure sugar (no flavor), the ice cream was okay, the smoothie was anything other than smooth...you get the point.
If you're driving all the way to Hana, keep going.

Banana bread was delicious but the pineapple smoothies we got had NUMEROUS pieces of foil/metal in them-which was even more disappointing since they were actually refreshing and delicious (until realizing it was metal, not a pineapple piece I crunched on)
