We took the train in coach and loved the oldie 1920's seats. The staff is darling, especially Richard. We brought our own picnic but there is a service car. The views were lovely. The narration was good. For train bluffs this is great. We saw...More
This was a wonderful trip that our family enjoyed. We have three young children under the age of 12, and they had a marvelous time especially when they got to ride the gondola car. The coach class has spacious seating, there are a number of...More
The views are scenic and we did see two eagles and two nests. However, similar views are available for free at numerous locations, such as Harpers Ferry or Shepherdstown or a free walk on the C and O. We did appreciate being able to bring...More
First thing....they never start on time,so be prepared. The wait staff was gracious and friendly; however, the conductors or whoever they were let you know right off that they were very important....a turn-off for me. We booked in Club Class, which is expensive, but worth...More
The staff were extremely accommodating with getting my special needs adult son and his wheelchair in the club car. He had been looking forward to riding the Potomac Eagle ever since his sister and brother in law moved to Washington DC a year and a...More
My husband and I took this trip several years ago during the fall foliage season and thoroughly enjoyed it. Friendly, helpful staff and lots of gorgeous scenery, including multiple eagles along the way. Have already recommended it to several friends.

We came across The Potomac Eagle by chance, on one of the MPT channels. They were airing a special documentary-style program on the wildlife in the Romney area and the train itself. The cinematography and still photographs were amazing, so we decided to plan a...More

Our platform has a few steps but also has ramps. Boarding from the platform onto the train is fairly level. Walkers are usually not a problem, although they can be hard to get through our doorways sometimes. Some of the interior doorways and aisles are narrow. Overall, we've had many guests bring/use walkers on the train and have had an enjoyable time.
