We had the most wonderful time. The place is extreamly well with kept. The family who run it were fantastic hosts with a passion for the birds which shone through. We paid for the chance to fly a bird and it was an experience my grandsons won't forget in a hurry all they could talk about when they got home to Mum and Dad. If you go on the train I thoroughly recommend a visit to the centre not just watch the free display. We will be back next time we come to the Island.

The bird of prey experience did not disappoint- this was a surprise birthday treat for a family member and went so well. It was a shame it was so hot as the birds were a little bit sleepy, but that didn’t matter. All round good fun looking at all the different raptors and seeing them fly.

We so enjoyed the Santa owls experience at Robin Hill on 23rd December. The lighted walk was wonderful & you could see how much effort had been put into making the evening so special. The owls in the show were brilliant & we enjoyed meeting the birds afterwards. We also saw the other birds in their new lovely new home. Hope you put on another show next Christmas as we will definitely be there. Good luck in your new home at Robin Hill & hope to see you when it reopens in2025.

A "must see" during any visit to the Isle of Wight. Now called The Falconry Experience, it is run by enthusiastic, passionate, dedicated, lovely, professional people who want to share their love for these amazing birds. The owls, kites, falcons and other raptors have the chance to show off their flying skills and their individual personalities in a lovely setting. Do go into the aviary to see all the birds up close, speak to the staff and support their work.

We saw a wonderful display at the IOW steam railway put on by these people (and the birds). They are very knowledgeable and informative about the different types of birds they have, and obviously have a great understanding about them.
It was such a disappointment to learn that this will be their last year providing displays as they are seeking new premises - it will be a great loss to the experience of the ‘steam railway attraction’.
However, as the Haven Falconry do not receive a single penny from the railway and put on these displays for free we understand why an alternative location is being sought.
I would encourage visitors who see the bird display (as part of their visit to the steam railway/ticket price) to donate some extra money to the bird display team (or better still actually pay a little bit more and visit it separately).

My daughter booked a falconry experience for for Father’s Day. Cannot praise Charlotte and Mike enough for making this experience so wonderful today. The knowledge and passion of their care and attention to the birds of prey was exceptional. This allowed me to relax and totally enjoy flying and feeding of these wonderful birds. I would urge anyone who has an interest in these magnificent birds to visit this hidden gem within Havenstreet Steam Railway . Thanks again to Charlotte and Mike.

Located in the grounds of the steam railway this is a must place to visit for any bird or animal lover. All of the birds are very well cared for and are kept in very large enclosures allowing them plenty of freedom to move around. Frequent flying displays are put on and it is great to watch these wonderful birds enjoying their flying time.
Whilst I was there i was fortunate to be able to talk to the owners who were very friendly and showed an obvious passion in what they were doing.
A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Fantastic hour with my wife .We had a hawk and owl landing on our arms. Sam, Christine and Micheal very knowledgeable. I would recommend anyone to do this. It's a shame that it could close due to how much it costs to keep it running. It needs more coverage. I will be telling all our friends. Excellent experience. Only question is keep an eye on the weather. Need a dry day.

Can I just turn up and look around?? How much is it to get in??
Written 23 August 2017
Yes, you can turn up and pay at the gate. With regards to cost...you can pay for the falconry alone, add it on when booking a ticket for the train,or add it on when you buy your ticket for the train at the station.....prices vary depending on this but it's around £5 at it's dearest..and £2:50 at it's cheapest....check out their website, they have full details there.
