La Mortella is the wonderful mediterranean and tropical garden developed by Susana Walton, the argentinian wife of the British composer Sir William Walton. It is located in Forio (Ischia) and can be visited on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 9 am to 7 pm, from April through late October. Guided visits in the winter months - booking by telephone required.

you must visit this garden. have a lot of time to recognoze each view on nature. scenery. amazing calm atmosphere and gain new energy into your body.

Just a spectacularly created garden. Full of gorgeous plants & flowers. I lost my self for over 3 hours. Well worth the entrance fee.

Lovely few hours spent in these gardens very pretty, tea shop a bit expensive, easy to find by local bus.

We had a lovely day visiting the gardens , lots of interesting flowers and plants . Relaxing by the fountains and ponds. We enjoyed tea and cakes in the tea rooms .Well worth a day out.

Beautiful place . We spent just over 3 hours here and loved the variety of plants . A really interesting walk full of surprises. Would recommend watching the video whilst there ( 45 mins) great review of the history. Nice cafe for lunch/drinks. Very good...More

Giardini La Mortella is a unique place that you should visit if you are in Ischia/Forio. The gardens contain beautiful plants, flowers and trees from around the world. We had such a wonderful time. Highly recommend.

The gardens are set on a hillside, with many serene areas. The tea shop is good value, and you can get a pot of tea if you so wish. Highly recommend a visit.

There is summer concerts plan in front of entrance. Sorry, I haven’t took a picture. So I would recommend to contact them directly on website “lamortella” and try to get information in advance as well how to buy tickets... More

Yes, I agree with all the people above: we recommend to visitors to allow half a day. It is enough to visit the garden, stroll at leisure, enjoy the view, watch the video in the museum and even stop for a coffee. Unless of... More
