Laxman Jhula is close for public. Steamers/Motor boats are used to ferry public across the banks. Morning they charge 50 rs, but towards the evening they fleece by asking 550 per person - reason, the small boats are not working. You pay the amount and you will find the small boat ferrying you 😀 You can’t buy return ticket so may have to shell out more. Talk about fleecing tourists/public!

Laksman jhula bridge is an experience and I saw many wonderful views while walking it. Monkeys playing, motorbikes coming here and there, sadhus sitting at the ends. I loved every minute and the bridge connects you with all the stalls you could wish for

Lakshman Jhula (Jhula means Swing) is suspension bridge on river Ganga connecting the Rishikesh city side to other side having several temples, ashrams and other religious places. Now only pedestrians are allowed on the bridge to cross. Earlier two-wheelers were allowed on it. One can see the beautiful Himalayas on upstream side and river Ganga below it with crystal clear fast flowing water coming down from hills. One can feel the swinging bridge when standing still or walking. Amazing pictures can be clicked on both side of bridge. 13-storeies temple has fascinating and grand looks from the bridge.

Well its a good place to visit if you are in Rishikesh, it is said that Laxman was meditating here near Ganga and he was disturbed by tides and due to his anger and power Ganga agreed to be calm the waters near this particular place. He had built a bridge over this stretch which is now rebuilt.
It is small as compared to Ram Jhula, however there is are no bikes on the Jhula. The view is great at this location. Beware of the monkeys, they come from no where and snatch food items from you, even if it is for fishes in the river. Avoid having food items in your hand or in your kids hand.

Laxman Jhula has a long history; it's a 450-ft long iron suspension bridge constructed over the Ganga river in 1923, and is one of the landmarks of Uttarakhand. As per the legends, the bridge was built exactly where Lakshman, brother of Lord Rama, crossed the river on jute ropes. Unfortunately now closed for pedestrians. Visit this place only if you have to complete your checklist.
It was heard that it is being replaced with a glass bottom bridge, and the work is in progress.
Special Tip: There is a tea stall right at the entrance of Laxman Jhula. The Guy Named Thakur makes awesome tea. Do give it a try.

Good place to get a view of the Ganga, and of the buildings lining its banks. Seems like it’s always crammed with visitors taking selfies, so it can be a bit slow-going. Unlike the Ram Jhula, motorcycles and scooters are not permitted on the bridge at this time (February 2020) but (perhaps as a consequence) there are more cows on this one.

Indeed heard a lot about this place. Winds and mother ganga flowing beneath it , its just amazing. It was under reconstruction when I visited but was still open for public. It is amazing at any time of the day at 6 am in the morning or 3 am in the night you will find people singing ,enjoying & chilling out there. The ghats around it are also soothing. Take photos, videos and reels but also enjoy the experience too and do not throw garbage around. There will be baba's and people doing chillam, which can irritate you if you entertain them. So, better avoid them and don't let them disturb your experience.

Stay safe on the suspension bridge located seventy meters above the river flowing below as it swings from side to side while you are walking. The bridge as well as the roads around tend to get crowded owing to the two-wheelers, buffaloes, cows and oxen. The surroundings get dirty due to the aforementioned animals. Nowadays, the pedestrians pollute the place too. The bridge is not very wide, but in spite of it, people stop in between to click pictures, feed monkeys, buy trinkets and so on. These make it even more crowded. You will find several food joints here, although the cuisine consists only of vegetarian food. Alcohol is strictly prohibited.
