About
Historic Park City is the gem among riches. Nestled in the valley flanked by Park City Mountain Resort on one side, and Deer Valley on the other, it is the heart and soul of our mountain town and the epicenter of all that is fun and wild. Historic Park City’s has a rich and storied past: it began as a raucous silver town, nearly faded into history as a ghost town, and then re-invented itself as a ski town that grew into a world-class destination and host to global events such as the 2002 Winter Olympics and the Sundance Film Festival. At the center of Historic Park City is Main Street--home to over 200 unique businesses. Visitors can shop among at independent boutiques, dine at one-of-a-kind restaurants, relax at a restorative spa, ride the town lift to play in the mountains, stay in style within a short walk of everything, revel in our spirited nightlife, discover something to treasure from our lively art community, and connect with loved ones with memorable experiences.

Highly recommended! There are lots of great shops and restaurants, a wonderful museum and the historic Egyptian Theatre. This id the area where the Sundance Film Festival takes place in February.

Although many stores had the same things there is still plenty to do in this beautiful town. The restaurants and shops are great.

This is a lovely area with many shops and restaurants. It is fairly expensive. This is where the Sundance Film Festival is held in February. You can take ski lifts up into the mountains from Main Street.

So much to see! We probably went into 80% of the stores, and a few we visited multiple times. A lot of historical information to read about and just about every major outdoor sports dealer in the country had a location there. Bars, food, music, and a lot of friendly people. Highly recommend!

We were able to come into town on a Sunday. Street Festival was a lot of fun. So many great vendors, music and food. Since we had already made dinner reservations we didn't have the street food but everything looked wonderful and prices seemed reasonable for an east coaster!!

Great mix of restaurant, bars, shops and galleries. Nice place to walk around and spend a few hours. Pricey for almost all restaurants.

Nice district to walk around in a huge change from when I skied here 50 years ago. Most of the shops were not dog friendly which we found unusual for a mountain town.
Still a nice couple of hours walking around and a very good lunch.

Had a great time strolling the Main Street and popping into the many stores and galleries along the way. Very friendly and welcoming in every shop, lots of interesting things to see or buy.

Staying in Midway, we heard a lot about Main St in Park City. Bars, restaurants, boutiques & more. The Famous Egyptian theater is there so make sure to get a picture. My highlight is a framed Banksy on the side of a building. We unfortunately did not eat on Main st. We grabbed a bite at nearby Fuego which I highly recommend but grab ice cream, regardless of the weather, at Rocky Mountain! It’s beautiful at night there so make sure to visit Main St day and night. We were there on a busy Friday night but easily found parking.

I loved Park City. I am not a skier, nor a hiker these days; however, Park City is really pretty. I loved walking around the historic district, photographing and shopping. Bought a lovely Native American silver necklace. I am ready to return.

What time do most stores and galleries open in the morning?

We arrived on main street about 10:10 in the morning and everything appeared to be open. People were sitting and eating on outdoor patios and people were coming out of retail establishments. My guess is probably at 9:00 for stores and 8:00 for restaurants.

Hi, How late are the shops open in Park City during the week after Labor Day?
Thanks!

The galleries I think close earlier than the restaurants. Galleries close around 6 or 7 pm as far as I recall.

Do they have wheelchair for rental on Main Street?

I've never seen one. closest I know of would be SLC, they may deliver, but you'd have to call and check. Trip advisor doesn't allow web links in the response (tried to leave the link, but it won't let me), but it's Red Rocks Medical Supply.

We are thinking about taking a 3 family vacation to park city. "Kids" from ages 33 to 9. Are there places to stay nearby so the older kids can go to restaurants and bars without getting in a car and the younger kids can have fun stuff to do in the day.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Jeanne,
Historic Park City is a quick FREE bus ride away from Park City Mountain & Deer Vally Resort or steps away from some great hiking or snowshoeing (depending on the time of year). You can even take the Town Lift to access Park City Mountain Resort. Any of the lodging properties in the Historic Park City area would be great for your family. Take a look at the Historic Park City Utah website (sorry, I can't include a link due to Trip Advisor rules) for a list. Enjoy!
