We had seen signs for this museum for years but had never visited. Today we finally took the turning, completely spontaneously and very glad we did. This exhibits have been collected, restored and maintained with enthusiasm over many years and the museum buildings, although basic were adequate for the purpose. We were delighted by every room. The entry charge was very reasonable, the staff very friendly.

I hadn't visited this museum for many years, since I was a child in fact, but visited yesterday with my nephew and mother in law. It's a very old school museum which only takes cash payments and the entrance fee is very reasonable. A point worth noting is that the only toilet available is a portaloo. The museum consists of a private collection of cars, motorbikes, bikes and other memorabilia. When I visited as a child they had some military vehicles but they are no longer there. Overall it's a good little museum and my nephew definitely enjoyed his visit.

This is a great little place. Lots of interesting old vehicles, and paraphernalia. The museum is very “old school” no fancy state of the art displays, but none the worse for it. We visited as a family group (aged 5 - 73) and we all enjoyed our visit. The lady who showed us round was welcoming, informative and very sweet with the grandchildren. Please be aware payment is cash only.

Very little info on the cars which ive never experienced in many a car museum before, very very pricey, you could do this in 10 minutes!! Left severely unimpressed by the fact i had to pay... Now this museum at one point was signed up to the Museums Association, i don't know what that means, if the place gets a grant, exposure or a payment scheme but if the place says "free entry" that should mean whoever presents a card gets free entry. The woman on the counter despite not going through any paperwork behind the counter when checking admittence terms like ive had at other museums, checking price boards, checking website, asking someone else, no matter what i did, even showing her my smartphone with the offer on, she REFUSED allow me free entry... Now surely if you're not part of the scheme and don't want to abide by it, you should ensure as a museum you're taken off. Mistakes happen, but quasi insinuating i was a liar before being shown hard facts of your museum being listed on a directory did not leave me impressed. This exchange lasted all of less than a minute before i relented and paid to get in. If the place was good and got in for free i normally donate some money anyway. All in all, i take my time and drag out visits, heck the Donington collection i was there for over 2 hours a fair few years ago but after 20 minutes in this museum i was bored and done and it'd have been far less than 20 minutes had i not dragged it out because i paid to get in lmao!! Its a very small place with a collection that's very modest as you can expect for a small museum, it's not quite a hidden gem. It's certainly off the beaten track but there's probably 2 cars in the collection that would pique the interest of anyone, anything else is probably what you've seen before. The woman on the counter was just so disinterested and aloof even when i walked through the door but heyho,

I stop by the museum with my youngest son as been almost 20 years since my last visit. Great to see so many different cars and motorcycles from as early as 1907. Not a big museum but is great for someone who appreciates old style vehicles. The lady working there was very attentive and polite. The price for the entrance is very affordable

Unbelievable that I have lived in East Lothian for a lengthy period of time and never visited the museum. Some of the items on display brought back memories especially the Austin A50 the first car I ever owned, what an enjoyable walk through history.

Out in the middle of nowhere but very well signposted. lovely collection of cars, motorcycle bicycles and associated memorabilia. Very friendly curator and most exhibits have little story boards about them. I loved the history of the Sunbeam that refused to die. Well worth a visit if your an adult into your into old vehicles but not really suitable for small children

Hidden away amid the farms and country roads of East Lothian, resides a true hidden gem of a museum and one that I am happy to give full marks too.
Now, of course, it is a small museum and as such is a bit cramped and basic but thats the charm - this isnt some sort of committee generated exhibition but a collection grown organically from one persons interest into a lovingly cared for family museum.
Some might dismiss this as three small barns stuffed with an eclectic array of stuff but thats the charm.
The other great strength is the friendliness of the people - this is a labour of love and it shows.
When I visited I was taken back to a bygone age and even though I dont drive and am not really interested in automobiles, there was enough wonder here to enthral me.
So I am more than happy to recommend to you a visit!
One caveat - we arrived with three young children and our youngest aged three was not impressed but the rest loved it although I remained anxious as some of these exhibits are fragile. Saying that the lady in attendance was very friendly and spoke with me and my youngest and made us feel very welcome.
