Great walk in the dunes. The beach runs along side it and there is a big car park next to it. It’s free & you an status’s long as you like. There’s a mixture of grassland, dunes & mud flats. Great visit.

Good mixture of activities
Jul 2021
It took a bit of finding the right car park but it was very big and free. Had a nice walk through the dunes then back along the beach. Had fish and chips by the sea, very nice.

A delightful walk in the Dunes
Aug 2021
Dawlish Warren National Nature Reserve consists of grassland, sand dunes, and mudflats. It is 500 acres in size, but the part most people walk on is the dunes behind the beach, which makes a change of scenery, and shelters you from coastal winds on a less than perfect day. I wouldn’t come here just for the park alone, even taking advantage of the guided tours and visitor centre, but as there is a nearby beach, amusements, restaurants, shops, etc. so it would be amiss not to include it on a visit to the area.

There is a sign at the latter end of beach that indicates not to cross on to the nature reserve.
👍❤️ Dawlish Warren.

❤️ the whole of Dawlish Warren...the long stretch of sandy dunes especially, the views, the water taxi from Exmouth & back, the loud amusement for kids ( especially the wacky ticket winner).... funderland....& That the nature reserve is supposed to be reserved for nature ( as their habitat has been taken already). I've visited dawlish Warren over the years but only found that end of the beach after a water taxi trip & years of visits prior favoured the other end of the beach.

The nature reserve is really beautiful, saw some wonderful orchids, birds and other flowers. Further around and you can get to the estuary and we had a lovely afternoon just watching the boats.

Peace and quiet to relax

Lovely peaceful walk, nice place to view the geese and catch some sun away from the crowds. Lots of places to rest and avoid the breeze whilst enjoying the weather.

Wandering what we call the sand dunes at Warren
Aug 2020 • Couples
Nice walk after a dinner brunch nearby per the title we have always said let’s walk on the sand dunes.
Pleasant enough on a sunny warm day plenty to note from the views across the estuary plus the wildlife that habitat this area we noted several bird watchers here with the big telephoto lens pointing to the marsh lands.
Possibly the best time to do this could be mid afternoon when the sun gets over into the western side of Dawlish Warren.
