We visited this private collection as part of a tour of the Czech Republic that took us to many out-of-the-way places. It is housed upstairs at the Horský hotel Skiland, where we also ate supper and visited with a local group. The collection of instruments was impressive on several accounts-- first of all, it's the work of the owner, a man who really likes music, and secondly, it is wide ranging, from the usual Western instruments (strings, brass) to percussion from across the globe, instruments associated with the Far East, and much more. One section contains a wide array of accordions, another displays dozens of zithers. It's a feast for the eyes, and displays of photographs celebrate people's from around the world making music. Photographs on the website show groups of children being introduced to the gallery, so it'd be suitable for youngsters who can be relied on to look but not touch.
