I enjoyed this park. It's a diamond in the rough. Very pretty. Added pleasure to my visit to Wilkes University

Enjoyable
May 2021 • Family
It's our own little central Park in North Eastern Pennsylvania. Lots to do here, open space for yoga, tabbing, playing catch, walking your pet, etc etc.... picnic tables, paved walked way you can ride a bike or skate on, swings and things for exercise, exercise areas here as well for free... free parking.... there's also tennis... im not sure if that's free...a snack stand that is usually open in summertime... lots of events.... one of the biggest nicest forth of July event is here at Kirby Park.... other events held here as well. Beautiful park with trees weeping willow, and other types... not too far from the river.... baseball area to play baseball....a track to walk around....a pond....I truly do enjoy this park all my life.... very clean..... make sure you throw your trash away...... there is free wifi in the park and emergency phones in designated areas.

Clean and green
Sep 2020
In these pandemic times it is great to have a spacious park right there in the urban landscape. Mostly, it is simply open green space, well-kept and clean. The pond adds a nice accent. The high levee is an unusual characteristic for a park, and gives you an elevated walkway with a nice view.

My favorite spot was the wooden carvings in a tall tree stump, with three bears eagerly going for the honey.

I often enjoy biking or taking a walk in the park. Take your kids or dog. There is plenty of room to play or sweat.

Ponder By The Pond
Jan 2020 • Friends
Kaitlin and I frequent Kirby Park for relaxation and brainstorming. Depending on what time of day we visit we are granted a different experience from the same loop. Always grateful. Finding a solution for the homeless in the woods and greater maintenance of the wooded path would increase our rating.

Has Potential
Aug 2019
This is a small park with a pond and a walk able dike. There is also a mini fitness course that you can follow along the trail. There is parking, sometimes the refreshments stand is open, there's a nice playground and a pavilion. The only reason I say it has potential is because the pond is usually disgusting with litter and there are homeless people in the back of the park which can be scary.

Been here many times its is nice clean and great in winter for Sleigh riding the many hills. I used to take my kids here to play and ride the swings. There are tables and a pond with ducks.

Beautiful Park!
Jul 2019 • Family
Stopped to just check it out. The park is nice lots of people but didn’t feel crowded so that was cool. It was a summer evening and the fireflies (lighting bugs) were EVERYWHERE so awesome to see so many! Kids LOVED them! I had 5 kiddos with me (ages ranging from 8-17) and all enjoyed the walk around exploring the park and river. It was sunset such a wonderful time of day to walk over the bridge. The park has a WiFi spot too isn’t the that AMAZING?!😱I didn’t get any pics of the park playground area but captured these great moments!😍 Would definitely return next time we are in town! 💚

Not what it use to be.
Jun 2019 • Family
For a city park its poorly maintained with little to do. Judging from the clientele that were roaming around the park gave me an unsafe feeling. Not a place I would want to be in the early morning or late evening hours.
