Took my daughter there for her 4th birthday . 5 to 6 rides shut down , Waiting to get on a ride could be anywhere from 10 to 40 minutes I was told by a staff member it was due to staff shortages and nobody wanting to work. All day my daughter was only able to ride six rides due to long lines and oncoming thunderstorm coming in the area they close all rides down. Upon asking before we left I asked if the rides would be open again the girl told me it looks like the storms going to be around for a while and they now close the park down at six at that point in time it was 3:30. Most of the workers were walking around miserable or acted like they didn’t like their job to ask a simple question was like pulling teeth.
We will never ever ever go back totally disgusted after hearing such good stuff about this place disappointing to say the least.

Took out grandkids (7 and 5) for what we thought would be 2 days at Dutch Wonderland. Turns out it is closed on Tuesdays in August. Arrived Sunday at a nearby hotel and bought a 2 day ticket. No one there said anything about the closure either. Got to do the preview and go to the park from 3-6 and not count as a day. Went back on Monday and had a great day. Wanted to go again Tuesday before heading home but found out Monday night from another guest at the hotel, it was closed Tuesday. Not on the website unless you look at the calendar for August. Have until Dec 31 to use but I will not have the grandkids back and we live 2 hours away.
The rides were perfect for my grandkids. Roller coasters height requirements good for the 7 yr old to ride them and there were plenty of rides for the 5 yr old. Snack prices were normal and pretty good tasting. They were out of some of the Dipn Dots ice cream flavors. There is a water area but we did not do that part of the park. They have a dinosaur exibit area that the kids enjoyed. Park is the perfect size for this age group and grandparents to walk around. Only had glimpses of the shows but they looked entertaining. Staff is friendly and the park clean. Nice gift shop too.

Beautiful day at Dutch Wonderland. We truly enjoyed our day at the park. Reminds me of Knoebels without the long drive. More relaxed than larger parks. Good shows. Lines were not long. Adults be careful with smaller roller coaster because it is rough. If you have any spinal issues you should not go on it with your child. It could give you whiplash. Otherwise I truly enjoyed that most rides adults could go on with their child or grandchild, especially if they are afraid. The park may be old fashioned but I found that a plus. Everyone was polite and friendly including the visitors.

Wouldn’t recommend going until 1030 let the line in clear up a bit but after that it’s not crowded at all! Shows are available throughout the day and change and are fun to watch. We never waited long for anything. My 3 yr old could ride most things and my teen loved lots of things and my Hudson who is 220 lbs could even ride things !

We went on a Wednesday in July, and it wasn’t very crowded. We ended up getting tickets on sale. We took our 10, 6, and 1 yo. I am also pregnant. We were pleasantly surprised at not only all the things my 1yo and I could do, but also my 10yo did not find it too babyish. I saw many kids my son’s age who were having a good time as well. Your parking pass is good all day and we got our hand stamped, so we were able to go at open, stay til lunch, head back to our Airbnb, and come back after nap time. I’d recommend doing that if you can, it was hot, so the park had cleared out quite a bit after 3 and we ended up staying until close.

I only give 4 stars for a few reasons. The longest line we stood in all day was getting through security and into the park. We arrived around open, but did not get up to the gate until 10 after open. We didn’t make it through security and into the park until 20 minutes later. They eventually opened a second terminal for scanning tickets, but not soon enough.

The lack of efficiency also showed when loading rides.

I can literally count 4 employees who were lovely, but the rest were all rude or seemed as if they have better places to be. I don’t expect Disney quality, but goodness. When you’re paying $200 to ride kiddie rides, you expect some professionalism.

Finally, we were only in the area for a few days. And we spent a whole day here. If you’ll be in town for longer or will be nearby, I’d recommend, but not if you only have a few days. My 6yo saw a video of it when we planned our trip and talked about it for months, so we decided it’d be worth it.

All in all, the kids really enjoyed it. They got to ride some of the rides multiple times and we did just about everything. They highly recommend. As a parent, it was fun, but I wouldn’t necessarily do it again, unless you live closer.

Nice amusement park. Had more big rides than I expected, so good for a range of ages.
Not so huge it’s overwhelming but plenty to do. We didn’t get to one section at all.
Food is mediocre is the one downside.

I came here with my kids because I remember going to Dutch Wonderland as a kid and wanted them to have a fun experience there as well.

We came on a Thursday and Friday during the summer and the crowds were quite manageable, I do not know what the park is like on the weekends, so keep that in mind.

Pros:

Small park, easy to navigate for even the most map reading challenged. This also means you get to ride your favorite rides a lot. More so than you could anywhere else. The exception to this are the two water rides they have. The log flume and a tunnel/tube ride have quite long lines after 11:30 am. I knew to expect this and made sure that the first thing we did were the water rides (like over & over)

Clean facilities. I was pleasantly surprised at not only the grounds upkeep and outside dining tables, but also the restrooms. It is HARD to keep amusement park restrooms clean throughout the day, but DW pulls this off with ease.

Rides for every age. I knew going in that this place wasn’t for “roller coaster aficionados” and that’s exactly what I was going for. My 9 year old wants to love roller coasters but once he sees them in person, is usually intimidated and backs out. DW’s roller coasters were a great intro that type of ride. *Just* scary enough to be called a roller coaster, but not enough to make you mess your pants or have a panic attack.

You can bring in your own food. We didn’t do this bc we were staying at the Cartoon Network Motel, but is a great option/perk.

Cons:

Small park. (Lol). I’m sure most people know exactly what DW is and what to expect. But, if you’re expecting Hershey Park/Great Adventure/etc, this may not satisfy you. This technically isn’t a con for me personally but I overheard some tourists say something about the size/options of the park and just wanted to make that clear.

Much better for little kids, or families with a mix of younger and older kids. My kids are 9 and 11. I knew they were right on the edge of being too old for the park, but they enjoyed themselves a lot. Most of the rides are truly meant for toddler to kindergarten-ish age but you can make the most of it if you can stomach rides that turn in small circular patterns.

Staffing issues. As the rest of America is experiencing, it seems like this park has staffing issues. handful of the rides opened late and closed early. But we were still able to do everything we wanted to do by keeping close tabs on the rides that weren’t open yet. Some rides also don’t have enough operators (log flume, I’m looking at you) so one staff member is doing the job of two, which leads to longer lines. (I will say the staff member of the log flume was excellent and always had a great attitude, despite the double work load. I don’t know if I’d be so gracious!)

The pizza/pasta buffet. Please do not eat this. Lol. This food is bad, and I live in FLORIDA, so my standards are incredibly low. I didn’t try the other eateries, other than the pretzel stands (yum!), I truly regret spending money here. Yuck yuck yuck.

If you know what to expect going in, you’re going to have a wonderful time.

Oh and parking is $25 for regular and $35 for preferred if you pay at the booth. If you pay online, you save $10. Just FYI.

The staff were amazing, the characters enchanting, the rides spectacular and the day just amazing! We have three disabled children and the staff could not have been more kind or accommodating for their individual needs. Dutch Wonderland really creates a storybook atmosphere that is intoxicating and keeps the children laughing, smiling and happy all day long. I'm often the first to have a critical eye, but I'm at a loss to find anything that was less than amazing. We just completed our first trip yesterday and I don't think my kids will stop talking about it all summer long! I'm so glad that I was able to create some amazing memories for my kids at Dutch Wonderland. On a side note, we had one minor question regarding the park's policy with disabled children and the Park Manager, James Paulding and Guest Services Manager Angela Tessen went above and beyond to make my children welcome and included. I'm really grateful to have found a place where disabled kids can just be kids in a magical kingdom for a day!

We loved that it's geared for younger children. Our 5 y/o granddaughter had a blast. All the rides are kid friendly. The park was clean. Merlin's buffet was good alternative to the the other restaurant on site. It was much less crowded.
