This was a nice museum.
A tree to sit inside of.
A honeycomb to sit in.
A two-story farm to milk a cow, move hay and straw bales, gather chicken eggs and fill-up and ride a tractor.
A house to build. Construct the blocks for the basement, do the plumbing, use a crane, hang the drapes.
and
A wall of vacuumed tubes that shoot out handkerchiefs.
An art room is included and an outdoor playground, too.
Small... but our 4 kids under 8 enjoyed themselves for about three hours.

We got our discounted tickets off of Groupon.

We came here one afternoon with our four year old who had a great time. There are lots of toys to play with and you can easily spend a few hours here.

This was our second visit to the hands-on house in the past couple of years.
It is not as good as it used to be.
I think they had to change exhibits due to COVID and as a result what’s left is not nearly as interesting or engaging as it once was.
The outdoor play area is nice and shaded but inside the exhibits look worn and were not enough to keep my 5 and 7 year old engaged for more than 1 hour.
It’s now best suited for kids under 5. I’m just glad I didn’t pay full price for admission and went after 1 pm when tickets were $6 per person.

Very disappointed. We took our small children ages 2 and 3 and felt as though there were just random items placed around to play with. I have always heard that this was an amazing place with so many different opportunities for children to experience and this was definitely not the case. It’s very very small inside. There is a grocery area that consists of a picnic table with some various fruits and a cash register but it is so poorly placed in the middle of the walkway it made it difficult to enjoy the set up.
There are different areas, all with good intentions but things definitely need updated and cleaned. And a word of caution, if playing in the outside garden and you have smaller children watch for tripping hazards, they are everywhere!! And have bug spray!!

We took a quick trip here while staying in Lancaster. It was small, but perfect for my 2 year old boys who had a great time. Everything was very clean and the staff was friendly.

Terrible experience! I took my husband, my adult daughter who was home visiting for the weekend and our 2 1/2 year old granddaughter. Everything was broken! It was such a disappointment. The crappy New Holland tractor was busted; none of the gauges worked. The grand baby couldn't wait to milk the cow but the milking machine was hot glued to the cow's utters and couldn't be used! The robot machine didn't fully articulate and acted like it was on it's last leg. The light/bright machine was missing most of its colors. The bucket that hoists hay bails had a rope that was knotted and didn't work right. The facility was just in sad shape. We were so disappointed. Years ago, that place was wonderful; my daughters loved it. But, alas, a generation goes by and now it's junk. So disappointed. I hope that whoever runs the place either reinvests to make it wonderful again or shuts it down and stops inappropriately advertising it as a wonderful place for kids when in reality it's just a bunch of busted toys laying around. You could just see the looks of disappointment on everyone's faces as they realized they'd been had!

So you’re planning a wedding for family and friends and it’s a full weekend event and some have young children. What to do?
Hands On. Our children including the bride all grew up spending time at Hands On and it provided a great option for the young children her for our daughters wedding. It’s still the most amazing well thought out place for children. It’s fun and educational. Here’s a poorly kept secret - adults like it too. Thanks Hands On for solving our problem.

I took my 3 year old here on a weekday afternoon. It costs about 19 dollars. It is small and has a cute appeal to it. I wish there were more things to do inside or the props were a bit more interactive. We were playing in the mechanic room and someone came around and had picked up a lot of the pieces. There was still about an hour left of being open. Some of the equipment didn’t work very well. My son had a good time for the price but probably best suited for young children.

We decided to try The Hands on House since it was to hot to do much else. We had our 2 1/2 year old granddaughter and 6 year old grandson. Our granddaughter loved all the activities and our grandson was bored within a 1/2 hour.
It was a little pricey for the limited activities and the fact that the outside area was closed for a summer school group from 10-1230. And we were only there until 12. You also pay for adults, which seemed a little much.
Would recommend for kids probably under 4, over that age would be bored unless you spend the time in the outside area if it’s open.
