About
For 30 years this has been one of the biggest and best markets in Australia. In the middle of the village of Bangalow in the Showground once a month the market brings hundreds of stallholders together to provide a feast for the all of your senses...more

The formula has been working for 35 years and not much has changed. We even have the same person running it who started it all those years ago.

We ventured here on a Sunday and the place was packed. It was quite difficult to get a parking space due to its popularity but with some patience you will find a spot and maybe a short walk. However, this is such a buzz of...More

Kerrimai, Good to hear you enjoyed the market. Parking can take time because there is only one entry in and out of the Showground where the markets are held. Spaces in the streets around fill up fast but we do have unlimited parking in the...More

You've done your homework and know all the details. Yes people are surprised we only charge $2 to park right in the Market grounds and, yes, we do keep the website up to date especially on those weekends when serious rain threatens.

Thanks Sonia, the management team work hard and some have been doing so now for 30 something years! The market still has a great feel and reflects much of what Bangalow and the Byron Bay area is about. Neville

Thanks for the response. The market in May was down on our usual number of stalls, the forecast said it might rain and that kept 50 or 60 stalls away. Parking is not so much a problem once you realise you can park inside the...More

Essentially a local food (meat, fish, fruit, veggies etc) market every Saturday am. In the Pub's car park. YOU, the customer/browser/socialiser, choose for freshness, friendliness, and/or price. Early for freshness, later for fun and price! Always friendly!

Another review mistaking the weekly Saturday local food market for the monthly Market. The Saturday market is about 20 food stalls where locals buy their supplies. An excellent market but it is nothing like the 4th Sunday market that has 300+ stalls

Thanks for your comment Jane. The April market was a quite wet and our stall numbers were down but those attended had a good day it fined up after 11am. A small less crowded market but you needed to wear boots.

A great place to visit if you’re in Bangalow on a Sunday. Eclectic range of goods, locally made. A range of food offerings with organic being a strong emphasis.

Catherine thanks for your review. positive feedback makes our efforts that much more worthwhile. We like everyone like being thanked when we do a good job. The last market was touch and go with rain in the days leading up to it.

Next time follow the parking signs. You drive right into the market and usually park within a 200 metres of a gate to the market. Sometimes we have to use an overflow carpark but it is still closer than parking in the streets around the...More
