As soon as I finished my Spingo ale and walked out of the pub, I immediately wanted to return - almost as if the Blue Anchor had a mystical hold on me. Apart from food, this pub offers absolutely everything; a roaring fire, great atmosphere,...More

Lovely old pub with beer brewed on site. Could do with some improvements, e.g. the loos are a little ropey, and the place could do with more heating.

So rare to find an old traditional pub that brews its own beers. Great beers, great hosts and great locals propping up the bar. Grab a beer, grab a chair and watch a great piece of Cornish life for an hour or two.. bring a...More

A trip to The Blue Anchor is recommended as it is a Unique pub. You think you are in a time warp but it is worth the trip. The beer is an acquired taste and is strong stuff.

A classic English pub, full of character. Has it’s own brewery producing the famous Spingo ales, treat with respect ! Doesn’t do food but pasties can be bought next door A real gem

What a wonderful inn. Comprising several rooms off a main corridor, it is very suitable for larger groups who might disturb those having a quiet drink. On sale was ale from the local Spingo brewery which I found delightful. I do so wish we had...More

Visited here as a trip down memory lane for hubby and we all enjoyed it. Great atmosphere, nice warm fire, quirky building - and a great pint, Spingo!!! Definitely worth a visit and a taste of their own beer. Fantastic.

Visited on Boxing Day 2017, what a great atmosphere, Morris dancing and a good Cornish sing song, absolutely packed with people but my family and I had a seat in the covered beer garden area which was very warm and comfortable, would recommend this pub.
