Beast bikers of all colours welcome pub in Yorkshire
Jan 2020
This is a great place makes all my favourite beer. Also I am happy they greet the rainbow coalition. Todmorden is famous for having highest density of lesbians in the UK. but gay/trans is also high in the demographic. This is a great brewery that welcomes all. the ethos of Todmorden. They have a wide selection of beers to please the soul. I have always felt welcome here. They fly the rainbow flag of inclusion. I have yety to meet a dissatisfied customer. Top rank

Brewery tour and food

Having done the brewery tour twice now, I would definitely recommend it. Good way to start a Saturday and even better way to start a Saturday on the ale

Great Brewery Tour
Mar 2020 • Friends
Really happy with the brewery tour. Gary did particularly well at giving a decent background to the company's history in an interesting talk before the actual tour.

Again during the tour Gary was informative, to the point and didn't waffle on and lose your attention.

Goes in depth enough regarding types of barley and hops, old methods versus newer methods with their Coppers, but doesn't bore you with too much information.

Great stuff!

Excellent tour
Feb 2020 • Friends
Best brewery tour I've been on. Our tour guide Gary was exceptional, describing the brewing techniques peppered with history of the firm all delivered with a large helping of humour. An hour and a half well spent in this noble brewery and the obligatory tasting at the end. Also don't miss the chance, if you're lucky, to meet the two beautiful shire horses!

Cant believe we haven't been before!!

Four of us went on the tour yesterday as a belated birthday present for my husband.
Was a great day out, the guide Gary had us hooked from the minute he started his spiel to the end, What he didn't know about brewing beer wasn't worth knowing!
he delivered it in knowledgeable, humorous way and was obviously dedicated to the cause.
Thoroughly recommended !!

A Good Informative Afternoon

Gary the guide was excellent. His knowledge of both old and modern brewing methods and the local history of Robinson's Brewery was delivered in an entertaining yet factual way.

Who Knew?
Feb 2020
Went around 15 years ago when it was all heat and steam. Wow! what a change and particularly impressive that the Directors chose to spend £10 in 2010 shortly after the Great Crash and morph the business from an old school dinosaur to a modern high tech brewing company BUT retaining all its history and pedigree. Even more impressive when it would plainly have been cheaper to sell up and move to a Eurobox factory.
Gary certainly knew his stuff and the Robinsons Bitter no doubt helped with his volume controls which were more than adequate to address a group of 16 aurally challenged individuals from the Pre 1940 Morris Owner,s Club. Fascinating blend of the old and the new seamlessly highlighting the changes in the industry over the last 150 years and proving that Family Businesses without the help of outside experts can and will succeed for another 150 years.
Cheers

Cheers to this

My daughter and husband went on the tour and had a meal - fantastic. So my husband and I went for just a meal on our next weekly visit to Stockport. I can’t believe we have never been before - food was lovely, reasonable and the place itself was fab. Nice staff, interesting surroundings ( without the full tour) definitely worth a visit or two instead of the usual cafe experience in the town centre.

Robinsons Brewery Tour
Feb 2020 • Family
We had a very extensive tour with Gary who knew a lot about the brewing process as well as the Robinsons family business. He was clearly passionate about the brewery and the 3 beer tokens did not dissapoint.

Very informative - the guide Gary was very knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic! Well worth doing the tour if you are in Stockport and have a couple of hours spare.
