About
Hershey starts here! How did Milton Hershey go from bankruptcy to brilliance, transforming chocolate from a luxury to an everyday treat? How did he invent a community? Why did he give away his fortune? That's the Hershey story. Enjoy a 45-minute, hands on class in the Chocolate Lab and sample warm drinking chocolate from around the world at Tastings. Grab a delicious treat from the Pantry Café and find a unique assortment of keepsakes and chocolate at Museum Shop.

My husband and I visited Hershey on a history-filled trip. We are not museum-type people but if something interests us we will give it a go. We didn’t know much about the history of Hershey so we decided to check it out. I must say Milton Hershey restored my faith in humanity. He was an amazing man and I’m so glad we went here. It’s not about chocolate per se it’s about a man, his dream and how he overcame all of his obstacles. The staff are incredibly helpful and there is a chocolate tasting and other activities offered. We were extremely pleased with our visit.

Went to all the top Hershey Spots: World, Park, Garden and Story. For our group with young children this was definitely a stop we could have skipped. Most of the info they could retain was repeated within the chocolate world factory tour and or the Hershey park monorail ride. For adults interested in more in-depth story of Hershey then I would recommend. I personally learned a lot but hard to really enjoy with little ones restless. We did do one of the world of chocolate tasting downstairs for a nominal fee extra and my 4y who loves chocolate did enjoy that. But you can do that without entering the museum if you desire.

Fun, interactive, and educational! Came on vacation and was able to count as school day for homeschooling thanks to how educational it was and they made it fun for learning, too! We had fun learning about the history and person of Milton Hershey! I would suggest if you have kids, do the apprenticeship program! We plan to return again!

Listen, you might like Hershey Park with all its activities and the wonderful chocolates that accompany your time there, but it is really incredible to learn about Milton Hershey. His life story is quite interesting, and I never realized how much of a philanthropist he was till I visited the museum. You could easily spend two hours there. There's also a wonderful cafe attached to the museum. It was closed while we were visiting, possibly because of Covid issues, but if it's open when you go, be sure to enjoy some food there.

This was a very well done museum that was not on our list of places to stop. But we passed it and were intrigued, so went in. This museum is a great mix of things about Milton Hershey and how the company evolved as well as history lessons interwoven into the displays. There were many interactive things to do from playing videos to designing candy bars. And I learned a ton about Milton Hershey that I didn't know.
There was a holiday event for kids that involved finding a bunch of elves around the museum. They were very well placed inside displays and it was fun to watch them being discovered. There was also a chocolate lab-type class that was very well attended.
The building is beautiful, the layout very easy to follow, and the entire place was clean. Staff was helpful. Discounts for Seniors, Military, Teachers and others made this a value!

The story of Milton Hershey, his company and his philanthropy are thoroughly presented through a series of displays. The main display covers Hershey PA and the display on the lower level (I am not sure if this is a permanent display or a special display.) covers the Hershey Company's Cuba operations.

The docents are well-informed and answered all of our questions thoroughly. The facility has an elevator and some seating scattered throughout. There is a shop on the first floor.
