Easily accessible. Paved parking at the Falls which is right on US Hwy 84. Restaurant, bar, restrooms, and gift shop right there. Outdoor eating area (tables & chairs) if you wish to picnic as we did. The Falls are viewable from the hwy. There is a paved walkway with a slight incline if you wish to get closer. There is also a paved or well groomed trail if you want to hike to the top of Falls. Just beautiful; something you don't want to miss.

Well worth the trip and well worth walking a least to the bridge lookout if you can. We went higher for views down which were pretty spectacular. Stunningly pretty place with toilets, restaurant and gift shop at the bottom. Free to see and a must on my opinion if you’re in the area.

Multnomah Falls is viewable from the highway and has a parking lot just outside the area. The trails to the upper falls is still closed after a fire that began in 2017, so you can only go as far as the bridge (just less than 1/2 mile).
One of the two parking areas for the falls is still closed due to the fire. There are signs directing you to get off at an exit for Rooster State Park, where after paying $5 to park, you can get a free shuttle to the falls. Do Not do this unless you've checked out the parking lot at Multnomah Falls first. Parking at the falls is free, and because the trails are closed, spots turn over quickly. We made the mistake of following the signs and lost at least 2 hours waiting in line for the shuttle bus. If this is your only option, it's better than missing it, but do a few loops around the parking lot before heading to the shuttle. It will save you lots of time and frustration.

The Multnomah falls are a busy attraction. Get there early on weekends as the parking can fill up. There is also parking off I 84. There is a lodge and restaurant here and refreshments for children. The hike to the lower falls and bridge is very easy and affords and excellent view of the upper falls. There are places to stop and rest for less athletic individuals. A beautiful site. The hiking trail continues up the the upper falls but is more challenging.

One of the sights to see in Oregon. Located on Historic Hwy 30 - narrow in spots, overgrown with trees, beautiful drive. The parking area is crowded, but worth it. The bridge halfway up the falls is awesome!

Beautiful waterfall and easy to access from the interstate. Large area for parking and not that far of a walk for elders or handicap. Those in an electric wheelchair could still make the journey to the first waterfall because there are paved ramps and no stairs in order to make the first part of this journey.

There was no where to park so we caught a glimpse as we slowly drove by. No social distancing here! It is an amazing waterfall right off the old highway. People wre parked in the lot and up and down the side of the road.

The weather was cooperating, and we walked up the trail alongside the falls to the Benson Bridge to be able to take photos down. All visitors were cooperating.
It is such an inspirational place!
The restaurant was closed.
The gift shop is open, and so are the restrooms.
Lots of parking available - must enter from the freeway and walk underneath it.

Over 600 foot falls. Second largest year around falls in the US. Beautiful place. Hiking to the top is available. It’s a mild hike but uphill or about mile.

In August 2022, If we park in the parking lot off hwy 84 and do the Multnomah Falls Hike starting at 9:00, can anyone give me advice on what time I’d be able to get to The Historic Columbia River highway at exit 28? I need to know as we now need to buy the timed permits and I don’t know the roads and especially how quickly traffic will be moving or interfering with movement in August. Thank you

Ues, there are several. We stayed in Troutdale, OR or Gresham, OR is also close by both about 15 miles away. We stayed at the Comfort Inn Columbia Gorge Gateway. There are many other lodging choice nearby, Keeps one out of the Portland area and all the traffic to stay in either Troutdale or Gresham.
