Very fun day and great breweries. Benjamin was very informative and we laughed a lot. Had some very interesting beers including a mushroom beer and Marion berry. Also, had a fun group of fellow beer lovers. Would highly recommend the tour.

My wife and I absolutely loved our Brewvana tour on Saturday. The group of "strangers" who became "best beer friends" almost immediately made this day really special but readers should want to know what they can expect so I'll leave out a lot of the personal stuff. We were not exactly sure what mode of transportation would be used - bus, van, limo? When the funky Brewvana bus pulled up to our pickup spot with the horn blaring, we had a pretty good idea this was going to be a very cool experience. Our guide, Nikki, had called us a bit before to confirm the pickup and greeted us with a warm smile and oodles of enthusiasm. The other people at our pickup location were another couple of beer nerds like us and a father/daughter combo - daughter being new to Portland from LA and Dad being from Denver. The rest of the bus was already full of 8 characters right out of "The Hangover"...a bachelor party that had already started the night before. OMG-here we go! The first stop at Coalition got us going with some tasty beers and just the right amount of "beer 101" talk. If you are an expert, you are encouraged to chime in, if you are a beer noob, you won't be by day's end. The second stop at Hopworks goes a little more behind the scenes with a short beer 102 tour of how the beer is actually made, oh and excellent beers. By this time, we're all high fiving and buying growlers for the ride to the next stop (yes you can drink on the bus, it feels naughty). Two guys drinking mimosas in an outdoor cafe are greeted with hopped-up insults from the bus like monkeys throwing poo at the zoo. Man cards revoked Mimosa dudes. The next stop includes some timely food at Breakside and more excellent beer. The party is in full swing by now as we pull into the fourth and final destination- Lompoc. More fabulous beer with Jaime Pressly's twin was enough to get the bachelor party guys cranked up to 11. Wife and I love to visit the local breweries whenever we travel and we travel in the PNW a lot. Brewvana was our wedding anniversary gift to each other and it would be really hard for me to put into words just how much fun we had on this tour. It is well worth the money and we will definitely do it again - perhaps on another day of the week or perhaps the same Saturday tour. Sorry for the length of this review and to finish off, here are my tips: Brewvana would make a great gift, don't worry about going alone or as a couple - you'll soon have at least a dozen new friends, do wear closed-toe shoes (for the tour), take lots of pictures, do lots of "check-ins" (my friends were constantly thumbing up as I was checking in), tip your tour guide generously. As fellow beer lovers it has to be hard for them to drive you around for 4 hours without partaking. Give them some spending money for their night that's certain to follow!

Our tour guide, April, was incredibly knowledgeable about beer, the brewing process, and the local scene. She was extremely entertaining. The tour itself is also top notch. Beers are welcome in the bus and the breweries we visited were unique and greatly differed from each other in their size and style.
Would book a tour with Brewvana again for sure.

Our guide, April, was impressively knowledgeable about beer, ale, cider, and on from there, brewing, drinking, judging (BJCP), bottling and distribution. The tour was an absolute highlight of our trip to Portland. Our tour ranked right up there with Multnomah and Bridal Veil Falls, Beacon and Haystack Rocks, Cathedral Ridge Winery and, of course, Rogue Ales and Spirits (Brewery) in Newport. From Cream Ales through a Strong Belgian and a floral dark ale that was most reminiscent of chai, it seems like we sampled well into the panoply of ales that are on offer in Portland. April had tons of great recommendations on other breweries to go to suit our shortlist of preferred styles and seems to be on great terms with many Portland Beer Industry Insiders. The Brewvana Beer Lovers Tour was positively exhilarating and was a great way to complete our first full day in Portland. Be sure not to miss out on an opportunity to ride along with April on a Thursday night.

My husband and I, another couple, and our 25 year old daughter bought tickets to the Best of Northwest brew tour, and ended up thinking that the 5 of us could have spent our $400 (w tip), drinking beer we really liked -- and cabbing around Portland (no parking issues, also)! At the beginning of the tour, our guide asked us what kind of beer we enjoyed... the crowd was diverse: IPA's, Pilsner, Stout, Lagers... yet, our selection of types of beer was very limited (IPA and Lager). Further, Dean's Scene, a speakeasy, brewed by a single man, tasted worse than our first ever home brew... Being from the East Coast, we were really expecting to visit the BEST craft breweries in Portland. Portland being known for producing some of the best hops and beer in the world. Instead, we ate stale pretzel necklaces and waited to be dropped off ... so we could go order some really good beer at a nearby pub. Good idea, just bad itinerary!

We had a great time on our private tour led by Ashley Rose. She helped us design a great itinerary, full of beer drinking, information, food, and fun! The tour was a good combination of drinking and learning about the brewing process, and Ashley was extremely personable and helped create a lively atmosphere.
I would highly recommend this tour for anyone in town for the weekend!

We had both April and Alex provide our tour for over 30 delegates. They were entertaining, hilarious and worked really well providing on-to-go changes to suit our group. I would highly recommend Brewvana Tours, especially for a large group outing. Well done team!

We took the Brewvana tour on our recent trip to Portland. It was a REALLY FUN TOUR ! We visited 4 breweries and sampled multiple great brews at each one. Our tour guide was Liz and she was fantastic ! She was so funny and informative....she made the day super for everyone on the tour. We had a mixed group of people and everyone enjoyed it ! I left my purse on the tour bus and didn't realize it till we were in the uber on our way to the hotel. I was able to contact Liz and she brought my purse to our hotel herself. That was really service above and beyond !!! She's a fantastic addition to this tour ! If you're visiting Portland and enjoy sampling grew beers....try this tour and make sure to ask for LIZ.....you will have a fun day for sure !!!

Visited Portland and couldn't decide whether to take a wine tour or a beer tour since the area is known for both. Decided on a beer tour through Brewvana and so glad we did. We're more wine drinkers but wanted to know more about beer and decided to take the walking tour through the Pearl District with our tour guide Lizzy. So much fun and Lizzy was outstanding. She knew her stuff about beer and made it fun. We went to three different places including Deschutes where we had 6 different unique beers. So much different than the beers you typically buy at the grocery stores. If you're looking for something fun to do in Portland for a few hours and enjoy beer, this is a must see tour.

We LOVED our Brevana tour, and our amazing host, April. She drove us around Portland for the Sunday Tour de Funk and taught us the different styles of beer in town including some really interesting brews from Labrewatory. This tour really was the highlight of our stay in Portland!
