This market was just down the street from our hotel so it was super convenient to walk a block. I am avoiding buying more stuff for the house and did not plan to buy anything. However there were some really beautiful and unique items. I ended up buying a wool hat, a sand garden with concrete balls, and a new wallet. All very well crafted. It was fun to wander up and down the aisles. We had to come back a bit later so I could get some delicious ice cream.

There was so much co stuff there. I had a burger and there rest of my family had food options from all over the globe. My kids spent lots of time looking at jewelry. I just wish I could get a non homemade beverage there.

A fantastic local craft Market. A great range of crafts, it was lovely talking to some of the stall holders and finding out about their products. If you are in Portland on a Saturday make a point of visiting. It is a must.

An okay market in a strange location. It's worth going to if you're in Portland but the farmers' market is far better.

As some have mentioned, the area is a bit rough. My husbamd and I had no problems stopping by midday. The market is definitely a must visit if you're coming to Portland. We had some delicious veggie gyros! There are a variety of food stalls and fun little shops. Not just plastic kitsch at a tourist trap like some markets.

Unfortunately as most people know, the downtown Portland area has a lot of homeless people. Even though there was a gate around part of the market area, it’s open where the Porta Johns are and a few homeless people were using them. Not that I did not feel safe, there’s just a lot of them, tents everywhere, boarded up areas.
The market itself had local artists, quite a few food booths. The empanadas were great! Pricey but tasty.
If you have time and are staying in the area, take a walk through, grab a coffee from the coffee truck and browse around.

Cool place but bad city. Won't be going again. Dirty, trashy city- not safe after dark. We prefer Seaside and the coast to I-5 corridor.

Great mix of local artisans and products. It was an easy walk along the waterfront from our downtown hotel. We will definitely go again if we happen to be in Portland on a Saturday!

Many vendors. Lots of good potential deals. It spans a large distance, so be prepared to walk. Worth the walk though.

Is the market dog friendly?

Pretty much everywhere in Portland is dog-friendly. If your dog is well socialized it would be a great place to have fun together. It’s all outdoors, and very close to the green areas along the river. I wouldn’t hesitate to take a well behaved dog. Enjoy!

I felt very safe there, lots of people in the area for the market , I was with my kids it was fine. There are homeless people around but so many people are at the market it was not an issue
I am going to be visiting the Saturday market in two weeks. Is there an easy way to locate the jewelry vendors for example . Is there a numerical map available? The booklet that I received is not in numerical order. Thank you

I am not sure, but there were an adequate number of vendors when I was there. I liked the selection and variety.

There is a multi level parking garage across the street from the water front park next to one part of the market. We didn't have any issues parking there.
