We stopped at Starvation Creek Falls since it was nearby Hood River and was close to the road. Once we parked it was only 0.1 miles to walk a paved or gravel path up the creekside to view the waterfall. There were benches a tables to sit and have a picnic, plus restrooms near the parking lot. Very easy to access for a quick photo stop, or you could walk the path to the west to see more falls. Kind of a one and done place, unlike Multnomah Falls, but still worth a visit.

Convenient access from the highway 84 - just watch for Exit sign! Large parking lot and restrooms behind. To see Starvation Creek Falls you need to walk to left - just in 5-6 minues you will get there. Nice asfalt path with slight angle going up. A lot of shadow - just enjoy your experience. If you go to your right from the parking lot there are 3 more waterfalls to visit!

The stop is right off the freeway heading west, so very easy to get on/off on your way to visit other falls. This one was great because no one was there and if one was so inclined, you could off road hike easily and get extremely close to the fall. This was one of 5 falls we saw during the day - everything is so close!

Thousands of people zip by this tiny parking lot without ever knowing that the payoff is huge for people who divert from the highway and spend 45 minutes to an hour here. If you can hike (or wheel) a mile or so on exceptionally maintained asphalt paths, you will be rewarded with several waterfalls including one spouting from a hole in the rock aptly named, you guessed it, Hole-in-the-Rock Falls. The Starvation Creek State Park exit from I-84 ends at this tiny parking lot - there is literally an exit with nothing else on it except for the park's parking lot so you cannot get lost. Park in the parking lot and follow your ears to the first falls, Starvation Creek Falls, but don't stop there. Take a right onto the trail (if you are standing in the parking lot with your back to the Columbia River Gorge) and walk down the very nice, paved trail - parts of it follow the original historic Columbia River Gorge highway. Within about a mile, you will see three waterfalls - Cabin Creek Falls, Hole-in-the-Wall Falls (100 ft. drop), and Lancaster Falls in that order. By the time you decide to turn around and return to your car, you will have seen four very impressive falls surrounded by deep green, lush Oregon moss, ferns, and trees. It is the most falls per mile I've ever seen and it is so worth the stop. While you can always hear I-84 as you stroll along the path, once you approach the waterfalls the road noise is drowned out by the roar of the falling water so you really do feel that you are in a wilderness area.

We parked in the main lot and started with Starvation creek falls, then Cabin creek falls and the man made gorgeous Hole in the wall falls.
These are all wonderful gorge waterfalls.
It was a Nice easy trail to see all 3 of these waterfalls.
There was a little ice still at starvation creek falls and a huge chunk fell off whilst we were there, made this insane noise when it crashed below, pretty exciting.
Nature is always exciting.

We had to hike a bit and then we found the Starvation Creek State Park. The waterfall was majestic! It was huge!, falling fom the high mountain.
Once it hit the ground, it flows amidst the rocks.
We had fun looking what the best photo would look like.
We had fun and we were amazed by the Starvation Creek State Park.
A must see!

The falls are only a short walk from the parking lot, which is literally right off I-84. It is worth the stop if you're in the area. It doesn't have quite the "wow factor" of other falls in the Gorge, but all things considered one may as well make a quick visit, even if it's only for a few minutes. It is totally worth it!

The lot was very limited for parking considering how many paths/trails start off from this area. Also, although signage seemed new, it was still a bit confusing as to which direction to head at first.

Beautiful falls located right off of the highway. Very few people were here when we were there. Great views from the bottom but if you're feeling adventurous, on the other side of the creek there is a path that takes you up to the base of the falls. From there you can get between two rocks and stand right underneath! Fantastic!
