Awesome art and nature experience!!
Sep 2021
During these COVID times, we look for outdoor activities while we are traveling. With our love of art, this was the perfect place to spend the afternoon. With over 100 sculptures, plus the temporary installations, there is plenty to see and enjoy. We were not familiar with most of the sculptors, but were happy to see pieces by AlexIt ander Liberman, George Sugarman, Chakaia Booker, and Jon Isherwood, among others set within the woods and rolling hills and gardens. We enjoyed Bret Price's Leverage exhibition with its monumental steel works! We walked around Pyramid House, and then visited the Ancient Sculpture Museum which was extraordinary with its displays of ancient sculptures and mosaics. The trails are walkable, but there are several steep hills to navigate. Cars are allowed on the roads; art carts are available to rent. Air couches and hammocks can be rented too. Make sure to stop at the Patio Overlook where you can sit and enjoy the view! Worth it!! There are areas for kids to explore. Food and beverage can be purchased. Picnicking is encouraged. This was such an enjoyable experience! With the low admission price, it is totally worth spending an afternoon here.

Fascinating artwork!

If you like art, this is a place to check out! I would highly recommend renting a golf cart for your visit. If not, be prepared to walk a lot. There are some steep hills! The art work is really neat. It’s certainly a place to check out!

Spectacular
Aug 2021
This was a fantastic place to visit. I love sculpture gardens, and I think that this is the best one that I've visited in the U.S. We stopped here on a road trip and had lunch. The entire garden is dog friendly (except for the museum portion). There were lots of places to eat and go to the bathroom as well as some stunning views beyond the beautiful sculptures. You could walk, drive, or rent a golf cart. We drove but parked at the many parking areas to get out and walk around. I will say that it was very spread out and not as walkable as I might have liked, but that's a small complaint. In less hot weather (it was in the high 80s when we were there), it's probably much more comfortable to hike the various paths. The museum was small but stunning and in addition to the ancient sculptures, there was a very modern part where the art reminded us of Otherworld in Columbus. We only had a couple of hours to spend here, which is my main regret. If we lived closer, we'd be here all the time. It was $10 for 4 of us with a current Groupon that they were able to look up at the gate. I had a great time and hope to come back.

Fun and different
Jun 2021 • Family
This place is VERY dog friendly! They were not only permitted, but welcomed (there were 3 cats hanging around, though, so if your dog hates cats, be forewarned). The staff put out a big bowl of clean water for them, they were allowed to ride on the rented golf carts, and it was great to be able to have them along to enjoy the day with us. The park is quite large, full of paved cart trails to all the outdoor sculptures. Some of the trails are alarmingly steep, but we had no trouble navigating them. Our only complaint is that the park hours begin much earlier in the day than the indoor museum area (9 a.m. vs. Noon for the indoor area), so we were unable to stick around to do the indoor stuff. My 17 y.o. son was disappointed that he was not permitted to drive the cart, as we were informed that you must be 21 to drive them. Otherwise, a great trip!

Wonderful!!!!

As of 3/30/21, the Ancient Museum is open 7 days a week. What a wonderful, peaceful, interesting adventure! The sculptures are varied, nature a plenty and a serene environment. Pack a lunch and enjoy the surroundings. Be sure to read about the mastermind, Harry Wilks, prior to going and donate generously!

Wonderful Park with Modern and Ancient Sculpture
Mar 2021
We've traveled a lot but haven't seen many attractions quite like this. Pyramid Hill is a park of about 300 rolling acres about 4 miles from the center of Hamilton. It's nice setting even if you just look at it as a park, but it also has several hundred works of sculpture, various buildings, lakes, and gardens.

Many of the reviews here are of the lighting decorations it has during December. We visited in March and, while it was great, I might recommend coming between April and October.

The outdoor sculpture is mostly modern. There is also a building of ancient sculpture that is mostly indoors. There are extensive roadways, so you can drive if you want. They also rent golf carts if you want a little more fun and flexibility.

When we visited, we saw mostly families, but I think this would be fun for just about anyone who likes arts and parks.

We had to pay $8 each for two adults, an amount we thought was fair for what we got. On a warmer spring day, summer, or fall, it would be even better.

If you're in the area, particularly on a nice day, we would highly recommend spending a half day or so here.

Holiday WOW!
Dec 2020 • Friends
Every year this holiday display is just excellent! This year they added some trippy music (you access through an app), to coincide with the lights. Well worth a stop, and you'll want to go late (time & season) to beat the crowds! Make sure to turn off those car lights, and have fun!

Colossal waste of money
Dec 2020 • Family
We visited the park thinking it would be on par with similar attractions around Cincinnati. But we walked away in disbelief about how expensive it was ($25), and how short it was (27 minutes). The lights were haphazardly thrown into bushes and trees with no thought of a coherent theme, or discernable plan. Inexplicably, certain features and buildings that shine during the day, were left untouched, including the pyramid building, which would have taken a searchlight to find in the pitch black. Some sculptures were lit up, while others sat sullen in the darkness.

And let's talk about the projections of children's faces...I couldn't have been more unnerved or creeped out. The only thing that will haunt me longer than the fact this idea was given the green light, are the ghastly images displayed amongst the barren tree branches. Please take these disturbing images down.

Overall, this was a colossal waste of money, and a poor attempt at a holiday light show. The show needs to either be longer, or less expensive. In full disclosure, I really enjoy the park during the day for regular visits, but this was extremely disappointing, and I will not be returning.
