Some lovely old buildings, and interesting shops. Worth making a bit of a detour to see the Tudor house also, even if it is closed as it was when I visited. But I did think the shops looked very overpriced and I kept my purse...More

Buoyed no doubt by the Turner Contemporary and the up-market pubs, restaurants and cafes across the road around what can best be described as a plaza, I can see that in just a couple more years the 'Old Town' will be the place to visit....More

The old town was charming with lots of old buildings, cafes, restaurants, pubs and small shops. We couldn't have found a nicer day in september to stroll around among the buildings. Look for more reviews by MulleEllum.

Walking to the new Turner Contemporary Art Gallery took us through the Old Town with its variety of architecture and connections. We particularly like the plaque to the Gaiety Girl. Well worth strolling through and finding Old Town features. There are some excellent information boards

Wandered round the old town this morning and was really surprised very buzzy lots of niche little shops, cafes and bars, lots of people all in all a good way to spend a Sunday morning.

This area has been spoilt by all the shop signs, should have been left as it originally was. Everywhere of interest now has loud shop signs above them which in this case takes away the Regency era.

Hello there. We didn't actually look for vegetarian eating places, however we did notice that inside the Old Kent Market they were serving veggie lunches, what they were I'm afraid I can't tell you, also the double decker... More

I think you should be removed from Tripadvisor for your offensive remarks to me as I said nothing offensive about Margate
