I was very disappointed with this garden. I was expecting many different kids of flowers and plants but it just felt like an excuse to have a cafe next to a covered reservoir. The lookout was the highlight which had a nice view of Daylesford, but the walking track was very short and there was only a small section for the fernery. I had planned to spend a few hours here but we had seen everything within about 20 mins. Perhaps it’s because we went in winter but honestly it would only be worth stopping at for the cafe.

Some beautiful sections of this garden exist but overall the experience was disappointing. Directional signs are confusing and at times non existent. I had high hopes for this place for an area that boasts fertile volcanic soil but expected a little more. The begonia display was beautiful and some of the sections around the cafe were nice but driving into the gardens and up to the car park everything looked unkept and more like a state park.
Disappointing experience but there’s definitely potential for change. Worth a visit for the lookout and the cafe has great reviews but only limited trading hours during some seasons.

Came here after the ring of steel came down in Vic. The tower is just enough to fit 2 people at a time on the way up/down and the top. Should be some restrictions to keep social distancing in place. Other than this it is calming place to visit

These are lovely gardens, but the pause are very steep. There is a café here that we had lunch out which was lovely. The food was very well priced and excellent and quality. There is also a tower that you can climb to get great views of the area highly recommend.

My wife and I visited these gardens during our recent holiday in Daylesford for two nights.
This was our second visit. We arrived on a cold Thursday morning while there was no one else around. We walked around the gardens and the walking track on the side of the gardens, near the Tower.
These gardens are well maintained.

A lap of the gardens by car gave you an appreciation of the Botanical Gatdens, way up on the hill. The views overlooking daylesford were brilliant. Followed up with a walk around at the top including the lookout is well worth it.

While it may not be very large, it is well kept and provides a nice outing for an hour or so. Take the drive around first, then park by the tower and talk the walks. Good way to escape for a bit and get a little exercise

My wife and I drove around the scenic drive before parking our car and walking around the entire garden.
The weather was excellent for walking with a sunny top of 27 degrees. Many parts of the walking trails in the garden are shaded with trees.
The conservatory had plenty of colourful begonias in full bloom.

Located above Daylesford, it’s a short (but steep!) walk past the convent. There is also plenty of parking at either the cafe or on top of the hill. The scenic ‘drive’ is a track and has suffered from recent rains so is quite potholed. TBH you could walk around just as easily. Excellent European style gardens dating from the 19th c.

This small botanical gardens is very beautiful! I went at the start of autumn and it was beautiful seeing all the leaves on the big trees turning orange, yellow and red. The drive around the botanic garden was gorgeous.
I expected to spend more time here, but it is quite small, and an hour is more than enough time to walk around the gardens and climb the tower. The tower has a nice view at the top, but I would not suggest a frail person to walk up. The stair way is quite dark, and steep.
There is also a cafe there, however I did not try it. I saw they served scones.

It is a small botanical garden and you could ride around it but the area is a hilly place.
