The highlight of being in Mexico City
Came here on a day trip from Mexico City and it was a wonderful experience. The sheer size and scale of the place cannot be really understood unless you actually come here and see it for yourself. I have been to most of the wonders of the world and this is up there with them.

Go by public transport and visit the town as well
Not having much time for grand pyramid tours throughout the country, this was our introduction to the arachaeology of Mexico. It was very easy to get to on public transport. You really don't have to go on an organised tour (metro then bus). Very cheap that way, too. We went early, before most of the buses arrived, and were greeted by the balloon flights. A very interesting area - but people have written about that. We would add that, having made our own way there we were then able to take a quick bus trip back (also walkable) to the small town of Teotihuacan, which was very picturesque, with a great market and interesting cafes. Well worth the visit. 2-3 hours at the Archaeological area. More to include the town.

Our Second Visit to this Impressive Site
The most evident change since our last time here is that visitors can no longer climb the pyramids. The area was built about the year 600 and centered around the Avenue of the Dead. The Avenue of the Dead is flanked by temples and palaces. We began our tour at the patio of the Four Temples, then continued to the Pyramid of the Moon and the Pyramid of the Sun. About half way between is a recessed area with a fresco of a puma. The Pyramid of the Sun is built over an ancient cave site and is the third largest pyramid in the world.

    Interesting site to visit
If you are in Mexico City don't pass on this Aztec site. I typically get there right before they open to beat the crowds and heat. Not much shade on site! You can no longer climb the Temple of the Sun but it's still an amazing site! Shopping, bathrooms and concessions are available.

    The Ruins were great
We all had a great time. The ruins are in great shape and such an interesting site to see. There is a constant cool breeze but you need hats, umbrellas and sunscreen because there is no shade. Full sun. The restaurants around the ruins are good. We used Uber and had good experiences with all Uber rides!

    Pyramids are cool
If you're in CDMX taking an uber there is pretty easy. Cost is $30-$40 USD. If you get dropped off at the first door, you'll have to walk about half a mile to the actual pyramids. If you get dropped off at the back of the grounds, the pyramids will be very close. Getting an uber back might be tricky, but the worst case is you take a taxi into downtown Teotihuacán and get the uber from there. Getting an uber is probably easier near the front entry of the grounds, vs the back entry closer to the pyramids. Hiring a guide could enhance your experience, but not necessary.

Hire a tour guide for an ultimate experience
We have visited twice and this time we walked in and hired Christaynn who is an official tour guide. He was phenomenal. Our kids 7 and 10 took down history and pride in their Mexican heritage. Our indigenous people were talented and intelligent and created magnificent structures standing 2000 years later. Amazing!

    Incredible Pyramids
We arrived early before the crowds built up and enjoyed 2 hours looking around this huge site. There is quite a walk from the entrance to the mind blowing pyramids, but walking gives you a better sense of the scale of the place rather than being driven in the back way. Large open site that gets very hot, so be sure to carry water.

    Must See Aztec Site!
If you are in Mexico City this is a must see Aztec ruin! Definetly go first thing in the morning for the sunrise and to beat the crowds! Make sure to walk the entire Avenue of The Dead. If you use a car service and they wait, ask them to drop you off at Gate 2 and pick you at Gate 1. You'll thank me!

    Magnificent ruins but dangerous walking
One of Mesoamerica's greatest archeological sites. I last visited about 30 years ago and had forgotten how steep and dangerous the stairs are on many of the temples. I'm sure many tourists fall and injure themselves every year. I would recommend hiking poles or a cane. For Spanish speakers it's easy to get to the ruins by public transport. Just take the subway to Terminal Norte de Autobuses and buy a roundtrip ticket ( 120 pesos). The ticket office is near section 8 inside the terminal.

Worthy of its current 5 star rating this really is a must do if you’re visiting Mexico City. It’s an extensive complex of ruins representing what was once Mexico’s largest pre-Hispanic empire.

Although I believe it is possible to do this independently I would actually recommend taking a organised tour to these ruins. The transport connections can be tedious and not guaranteed to be safe. I also found having a guide helped put into context what I was seeing. I would select a tour that gets you to the ruins early to avoid the midday heat and largest tourist crowds.

When we visited it didn’t appear that you were able to climb any of the ruins which appears to be a relatively recent change.

Bring plenty of water, sunscreen and a hat as it does get hot.

This is a most visited landmark one hour from Mexico City. If you travel to Cairo you must go to Giza, if you go to Mexico City yoi go to Teotihuacan. The Avenue of the Death is an amazing olace to reimagine life in a precolombian Meixco, surrounded with Palaces and Pyramids. The lost amazing are the Sun and the Moon Pyramids. You can dream if being with the Toltec civilization, even before the Aztecs and Mayan. After a long and amazing hike you will find exquisite Mexican food all around the arqueológicas site. Amazing to fi in grouos and with family.

Teotihuacan is a totally magical archaeological zone, each of its areas is full of history. The view is totally beautiful, its architecture is incredible, very interesting, despite being ruins they are visually very attractive. The price of admission is quite cheap, I totally recommend this place to visit with family, friends or in school groups. It is worth mentioning that you can go alone or you can hire a guide, personally I recommend that if you visit this magical place you go in the company of a guide since he is well informed about the many stories and legends that are supposed to happened there.

It is a giant place with good guides, it is tiring to climb the pyramids but it is worth it. There are many vendors with beautiful handmade things.

Teotihuacán is an archaeological zone, it was one of the cities of Mesoamerica, during the pre-Hispanic era. There is the street called Clazada de los Muertos that joins the city to the temple of Quetzalcoatl, the pyramid of the moon and the pyramid of the sun, it is worth mentioning that the pyramid of the sun is the most emblematic of this culture. the place is very beautiful it is recommended to visit it because there are many interesting things that will surprise you.

Teotihucan is a very beautifull archaeological zone, it is a very quiet place to spend with the family.
It is a very hot place so it is recommended to bring something to cover yourself with and plenty of water to hydrateIt is a very nice place to learn a little about the history of our ancestors and about their customs, in addition to having a pleasant time and recharging your energies because when you enter a place you feel very beautiful energies.
In my opinion, it is a very pleasant place to spend with your family and be able to explore this beautiful place where you have the possibility of meeting many types of people, including foreigners.

when I went to that place it was a very pleasant experience because I was able to learn a little more about our culture, meet more people, try new foods, other species, the entrance to the museums, the walk along the causeway of the dead everything in general is a unique experience, when I climbed the pyramids it is too great a fatigue, however, it is worth reaching the summit

You know it's great, so here are some tips. We went on a Saturday in May. (Do not go on Sunday - it's free and is mobbed by locals.) Took an Uber leaving CDMX at 9 am, got to Teotihuacan at 10 am. Bring cash: there's a 90 peso cash toll each way and entrance is 85 pesos. At 10 on a Saturday there was no line at the ticket booth. Uber couldn't find "Teotihuacan" so we used google maps to find entry #2 (Puerta 2), which is the entrance to the biggest pyramid, and then dragged the Uber map to that location.
