This is a fun place to come with youngsters to pan for gemstones. It's fun to do, even on a hot day as the place is shaded. This is a great thing to do when you are in the Nantahala area

We loved mining for gems. It's something I had never done, but my wife had done a lot as a kid. Well the kid is still in there and she and I had a blast (and we are in our 50's).
