Instead of taking the bus back down to the harbor I decided to tackle the steps down, not for the faint hearted as there are nearly 1000 steps. The steps cling to the side of the mountain and provide spectacular views across the island and...More

I took the bus to Anacapri and walked down the Phoenician Steps , all 922 of them . Quite tricky as it had been raining and the steps were steep and deep and slippy . Fantastic views on the way down .

Instead of taking the bus from Anacapri to Marina Grande we went by these steps. So the way went down and it was not difficult, but the views were wonderful.

Just climbed these amazing steps. It’s tough going but well worth it - fantastic views, clean air & bags of exercise. Not to be missed - few make the effort so it’s actually really peaceful. Wear sturdy trainers or waking shoes & bring water. Treat...More

I decided to climb these rather than take the bus from the Grande Marina to Anacapri to get to Mounte Solaro. The directions were fairly straight forward. You start out wandering through alleys/roads in neighborhoods. Steep walk. Then you go through the woods on the...More

My husband and I decided to walk down the steps from Anacapri to return to Capri. I'm not particularly fit, but figured going down would be no problem. Boy, was I wrong! Cardio-wise it was completely fine, but I had trouble balancing as the steps...More

Scoring goals is easy if you are Christiano Renaldo; tennis comes easy to Roger Federer; and walking up or down the Scala Fenicia (Phoenician Steps) is easy too if you’re reasonably fit. Take this into account when reading reviews of this attraction and don’t be...More

The stairs are very easy to find. And at first, they look pretty easy. You say, "Oh this ain't too bad. I can do this." But just you wait! Along the way the vistas are spectacular, breathtaking and expansive. There are little rest stops along...More

We were staying in Anacapri and had heard that there were some good walks to be had on the island, so when we found out that you could walk down to Capri we jumped at the chance. This was a great way to see more...More

Hi, Sorry, I do not know that there exists a bakery at the bottom of the steps. If there exists one it's very hidden (or most probably it does not exist any more). Best GP
