    Not cheap street food
It’s a park in Stone Town on the seashore. Many highlights around to see. After 6:00pm, it turns to be Night Market. Many stalls making all kinds of seafood and beef, chicken, duck BBQ. ice cream, waffles and sugarcane juice. Two prices: Yes two prices , one for tourists and the other for locals. For a little amount of beef and chicken plus coconut bread, I paid 55000 shillings, more than 20 dollars ??? Sugarcane is 4000 while on other part of the market it was 2000. Our guide got it by 1000 WOW The beach is wonderful, many boys jump in the water. Many photographers and a great place and time to spend.

The best place to sit is at Zenji Garden Cafe
My favourite place at Forodhani is Zenji Garden Cafe, the middle kiosk on the waterfront. Especially during sunset when the foods stalls are preparing for the evening and the kids dive into the water. The coffee, fresh juices & breakfast is a great way to start your day, but they also serve very nice and fresh prepared lunch and dinner for a good price. I will definitely come back more often!

    Visit before a late-night flight
I didn't know what to expect here. We had a very late flight (3AM) leaving Zanzibar, and we didn't somewhere to go. We decided to come here late that evening (around 10PM) for dinner. It turned out to be a great last experience in Zanzibar and in Tanzania. While I had heard that it might be somewhat dangerous, the park had a family-friendly feel, with childrens' toys being sold along with the food vendors. There were rows of food vendors with tables of various meat and seafood skewers ready to grill. They were all soliciting customers but not in an overly aggressive way. After deciding on one, we tried lobster, octopus and squid, and tuna. They brought the freshly grills items to us, and everything was very good. I wasn't sure how it would sit with me, but luckily no issues. Other members of my family had the shawarma, also available throughout the park. We also enjoyed freshly squeezed sugarcane juice, which came out to less than one dollar per cup. If you are a foodie and enjoy exploring, I cannot recommend this place enough.

Busy, fun place to watch the sunset and antics of local boys diving into the water off the walkway. But be prepared to fight off lots of come ons for tours and assorted souvenirs. You don’t need a tour of this small park and market stalls aimed at tourists. Shawarma, Zanzibar pizza, samosas, coconut snow cones and sugar cane juice were great and fairly priced. Avoid the outrageously priced chewy seafood skewers at any cost. If the price for something isn’t visible or posted make sure you get the price first. You may also encounter guys illegally selling alcohol - go to a legit bar, restaurant or a liquor store not the half lit park. Go to check out the scene but for decent food go to a cafe.

Crowded place. Limited parking area. The place is a market at night and a park during the day. It is however too crowded..

I had been seeing posts on tiktok and YouTube about this food market and I just had to experience it.

It is everything they say it is. Multiple food vendors who don't hassle you to buy from their stand. I am not a fan of seafood. So this was a great opportunity to try various fish without having to pay too much for them.

The highlight for me was the cane juice, it was so refreshing and yummy. Definitely worth the hype. I was really looking forward to trying that and I loved it and will miss it.

Nice atmosphere and great place to pass by to see the evening food market - but the food was truly horrible and, having realised to late that it involves haggling, totally overpriced.

A green lush garden, on the fringes of the town, fort and kissing the beachfront

Communal areas to sit, which is hopelessly used by locals sleeping on the benches

If you're a cat lover, then this is the place to be. Please bring lots of food for the friendly felines
