Might never get done of course but the Historic Hudson enthusiasts are doing it right. The house is a fascinating study of a project committed to the pursuit of perfection. When it’s open as it was for the design showcase the historic halls come alive.

While currently available for tours by reservation, it is a stunning reminder of Hudson's glorious past and with plans to create a park, a hidden gem waiting to connect to Olana and the Waterfront.

It is a spectacular house that has been saved from ruin and is undergoing restoration by Historic Hudson. A landmark in the history of American domestic architecture it is a must for anyone seriously interested in the history of the Hudson River.
