Our timing was off and so we did not get to tour inside the Cleveland's lovely home. It is not closed off and so we were able to walk about the grounds, situated on a nice piece of property, visible from the road.

After living in town for many years we finally went for a guided tour. Such an important and interesting piece of history in our own town. The tour guide was very informative and interesting. We went with another couple and she spent about an hour and a half with us answering questions and sharing other details about the time period. We would highly recommend it whether you are a local or from out of town. It is directly on the main street in town and there are plenty of good restaurants to enjoy within walking distance.

I had passed by this site many time, yet I had never ventured inside of it. I booked my free reservation online a day before my tour. The docent was friendly and informative. My tour lasted an hour, and I got to see the ground floor and the visitor’s center with a small group. There were photographs and artifacts of Cleveland’s younger and elder life, and there was an abundance of information to depict his childhood experiences at this home. There was a parking lot and there were bathrooms inside of the visitor’s center. This site was located inside of the main strip in Caldwell.

Very interesting site if you are interested in presidential history. I did not know alot about Grover Cleveland until I booked an appointment. Guide was very knowledgeable and could answer lots of questions, not just about Grover Cleveland but about events of the times of his presidency. Grover Cleveland does not have a presidential library so this site will be growing to accommodate more of his documents. He was a 2 term president so I appreciate that this site is being preserved so we can continue to keep lessons learned from history in the minds of the people of today.
Visitor center is next to the carriage house and has upgraded to have very nice restrooms now.

My husband and I visit Presidential homes, museums and sites. This was about the 32nd. Although the house is huge, the actual part that President Cleveland lived in was small. This parsonage was expanded through the years. However, we had an excellent tour. Our tour guide spent about two hours with us; she has obviously done hours of extra reading and is well informed about his WHOLE life. There is also a small museum with the home. The museum is full of interesting artifacts, from both the President and his wife's clothes, fishing gear, to wedding fruitcake! Many people ask about our favorite sites; the truth is they are all interesting, informative and allow us to better grasp Presidents as men, not just politicians. This was an excellent visit and we walked away with much better understanding of the man and his times. Plus he was unique as the only President with two non-consecutive terms!

The Grover Cleveland Birthplace was a really interesting piece of American History as the place that the president lived from the time he was born to about 4 years old. His sister willed all sorts of family possessions to the home and there is a lot of family memorabilia from furniture to paintings to family cookware to President Cleveland's personal items in the house.

The house is well set up and the displays are very interesting and well thought out. It is not one of those musty historical sites with old displays and boring tour guides. The tour was very informative and interesting and the tour guide knew a lot about the family. Make sure to take the tour and then take time on your own to see all the cases.

It is a must see in New Jersey.

This is the type of place you could spend little or a lot of time at with only 4 main rooms. We were a small group and the only people touring at the time so the guide spent about an hour with us. She was very knowledgeable and fielded questions/comments on a number of presidents. There is off street parking. No rest room facilities save for a port o pot. You can enter all but one room on the main floor. Recommend if you are a presidential fan and in particular if you are a Stephen Grover Cleveland fan. Who knew he a different given first name!? The site has quite a number of family pieces in most of the rooms.

Met some other ladies in our lunch group here. We had a very interesting and informative tour of this small house. We spent an hour here and it was just lovely! I'm sorry another person who recently attended wasn't happy, but I would say ALL of us on this tour were charmed by our guide and thanked her a lot at the end! She was extremely knowledgeable and seemed interested in our group. Maybe the guy had a different or new guide? I toured a small museum in Hawaii and was the only person and the young guide was thrilled I was so interested and gave me 100%.

Decent museum about the life of Grover Cleveland. The house has a number of items that date back to his family life as well as photographs. One room is dedicated to his run for the presidency and his failed run for reelection. Photos are not permitted in the house except for the kitchen. I was given the option by the tour guide to do a self-guided tour or have her take me around. I chose a self-guided tour, although she did make herself available for questions. The guide was also pleasant to speak with. Not a big museum, but worth the visit.

Super cute! I stopped here with my kids when we were early for a playdate and had some time to kill. The tour guide was nice and since we were the only ones there, took time to answer my kids questions and talk about the things they were interested in. They had a cute area in one of the rooms where you can play with some "old time" games (as well as outside there are some games). I'll definitely be bringing them back when we have more time to explore!
