Visited here on our past trip to Missoula, it was awhile ago but wanted to just say how great of a time we had. Very interesting and hope to visit again soon when we can!

Good resource on the great work RMEF does for Elk!

Nice exhibit, smaller than I expected. The facility has numerous high-quality examples of elk, but the inside part of the facility can be visited in about half an hour. Worth seeing, just budget your time accordingly.

Learning about the animals at Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation
Jun 2019
I was impressed that they had put the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation at the Visitor's Center.

That way, everyone would recognize the animals in the forest.

Outside, there was an elk made in metal.

Inside we could learn about all the animals. It is really well done.

There were nice paintings as well.

I liked the mountain lion.

The ram was also attractive!

They also warned us about fires and what to do if it happened.

There were a lot of heads of animals as well.

There was a bear. He was cute.

This is perfect for anyone. However, children like it the most.

A must see!

We enjoyed this exhibit very much. Seeing the mammoth sizes of different elk was fascinating. Very educational and a beautiful environment.

Educational and Interesting
Sep 2019
We stopped by on our way through Montana and were entertained and educated. They present a great video and the displays are phenomenal. Some of the antlers were almost unbelieveable and there is some world class taxidermy. The gift shop is nice and the general ambience is uplifting. We learned a lot about the species and man's effect on it. Entry was free.

Glad we found this Gem

Our travel schedule was open for a few hours in the morning so we thought we’d give it a try based on other recommendations. Even though we don’t hunt we found the RMEF to be extremely informative and educational. Enjoyed the videos and the displays were top notch.

The foundation does an excellent job of explaining how hunters contribute to conservation efforts. The short walking trail was also interesting and gave us a chance to get in a nice walk on a beautiful Montana morning.

A Must for Hunters and Conservationist Alike
Sep 2019
This is a great venue to learn about most of the wild life in Montana. It is not very big so all you need is an hour if that and it is free to boot. Definitely worth a quick stop.
