We visit el salto de San Augustin. Nice view on one of the highest waterfalls. Not as big as expected, but a pretty romantic place.

A one-way road leads to a small hotel with a leaning-out terrace giving a free, great view of the sky-high waterfalls.

This site is usually visited as part of a full day jeep tour that take you to the more remote sites around San Agustin. Thee are 2 viewing point. The first is from the balcony of the restaurant. The path to the 2nd less organized one starts on the right side of the brown sign indicating the name of the waterfall. Be careful walking down as it could be slippery and mind the edge of the canyon. From here you will be able to get a full view of the 2 tiered waterfall.

We went there as part of the tour of sites around San Agustin. It's a very nice waterfall but unfortunately it was starting to rain as we got there. Nevertheless it was good to see.

Definitely worth spending a day doing this and several other sites around San Agustin if you're in town or in the area.

The tour cost varies from 30,000 to 40,000 COP depending upon the operator and your negotiating skills. We went with Anacaona for 30,000 COP.
