Not a bad seat in the house! We saw the Nutcracker here and loved it. Easy to park right on site, quick access to the bars, and courteous staff. Be sure to take in the views of the city!

The building is a real gem for KC. I was happy to take my family and attend the Nature Roars Back event. The staff were fun and kept the place clean and tidy for us to enjoy. Thank you!

Highly disappointed that a performing arts center thinks they can decide what is best for my health. We will never spend another dime here.

I really needed to give the Kauffman Center only one star because for a brand newly designed building the Architects should have been able to accommodate significantly better seating if they were not trying to crowd the capacity of these auditoriums.
I mean I rate the seats at the KCPA BELOW…FAR BELOW the worst coach class seats on any airline I have flown. You are not going to enjoy the evening if you are stuck in an upright chair, with less leg room than coach on an airline, and the KCPA does have fairly narrow seats, ( no I do not have a wide body butt!)
One wonders if the same people that did the disastrous skywalks at the Hyatt Regency in KC have had a hand in SQUEEZING theater goers into these seats… Also a very concerned that there were only single/one door (not any double doors) for each aisle incase of the need to quickly evacuate the seating area into the lobby or exits.
Too bad Kansas Citians, Great acoustics, but a lousy experience.

Good luck with those mandates. We are done supporting events at the Kauffman. My money my choice! You are hypocrites for claiming you are an "inclusive" organization when you are excluding people who may not be able to get the vaccine or who have already had the virus. At least offer a choice of proof vaccine OR a Covid test for all like St. Louis Symphony has done. We will be supporting them instead!

The Kauffman Center has 2 beautiful halls, one for Ballets and Opera, and another for other music. The sound produced by both halls are fantastic and every seat in both halls provide extremely nice views and sound. The parking is very spacious, even in the event of a full house for both halls. The music hall, Helzberg Hall, is the one of the best places I've been to for classical music, with great acoustics rivaling halls in Germany and Austria.

I am down rating this place because the balcony seating is highly dangerous due to the extremely low railings. I was literally terrified to sit there on the balcony because the railing is less than 18 inches high. One could easily fall over it. I am surprised there has not been a fatality yet. Older people after drinking a drink or two would be at especially high risk. Having said that, the place is beautiful and has great acoustics. I will not ever risk sitting in a balcony in the future here.

Talk about spectacular, well this place indeed is just that. The architecture is fantastic! We live about three hours away and have been twice and have been totally impressed both times. We just attended Handel's Messiah last weekend. Tickets are easy to purchase on their website. It's located just off the interstate and easy to find. A parking garage, which you pay an addition fee for, puts you right at the venue. Thanks to the Kauffman Foundation, people from near and far can enjoy performing arts in a classy fashion. A wonderful experience.

The architecture is second only to the outstanding acoustics of the music hall. Really first rate venue and should attract top performers.

The Kansas City Ballet performs at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. We had the pleasure of watching the performance of Alice. The Center itself is a beautiful venue. One side of the lobby is glass and provides a view of the city. On the other side are two theaters. Acoustics were excellent and we could hear the tap tap of the ballerina's pointe shoes. The KC Symphony performance was amazing! I am sure performing at the KCPA would make any group better, yes, and a joy for guests to see and/or hear. Parking is easy in the KCPA garage and there are lots of parking spaces. Nothing I dislike about the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. It is a bright spot in Kansas City!

I have no knowledge on that subject. The Webster House is next door, if fine dining is your thing.

What are the best seats in the house?
Written 14 May 2018
Previous answers are on point. There r really no bad seats in the smaller theatre.

Visitors do dress up ranging from business casual to chic depending upon the performance that they are attending.

We are going for opera on Friday evening? Is purchasing parking tickets required?
Written 6 October 2017
I would strongly recommend it. Parking is limited and you could pay at time of parking if spaces are available, but pre-paying by buying on-line is your best bet. You could also do street parking but i would not recommend it

Will be arriving at stadium by taxi from our hotel. Is it easy to find a taxi after game? Have been to 22 stadiums and many do not allow taxis to come close to parks. Dont want to wander in dark after game

Attending Oriental Dance on 2/12/17, what should the attire be?

Where is the schedule for the concerts? Also, what area is best to stay within walking distance to restaurants, live music?
Written 31 July 2016
You can see a schedule by Googling Kauffman Center Events.
Any hotel downtown is a good place to stay to be close to everything. There is a trolley that will take you Union Station/Crown Center going south or the Rivermarket going north. In downtown you have the Power and Light District with lots of restaurants. You'd also be 10 minutes from the Plaza for shopping and more great restaurants.
