Was my accommodation. Loved staying and exploring the Castello and the beautiful grounds with my partner, mother and father. It is unlike anything we are able to experience in Australia and has a relaxed comfortable atmosphere.

With groupon all acceptable, room good but very cold, breakfast normal, tour & wine tasting acceptable.

We attended the "castle" with a prior reservation for 6 persons for the supposed tour of the grounds followed by a sampling of 6 varieties of locally produced wines accompanied with cheeses, salami and preserves.

Upon arrival we were greeted by an elderly gentleman who spoke Italian only and were guided without any understanding of the narrative for just over an hour around the buildings. The "castle" is a historic building that is very much under repair with construction debris littering the rooms and courtyard areas.

The tour concluded with the introduction to "armoury" where a number of bottled wines and preserves were displayed on shelves for purchase. At the center of the room were 4 glasses laid out (we were a party of 6 +2 in our tour group) with a couple of small platters of salami with bread. We were served a rose wine very sparingly and had to request additional glasses so that all in the group could participate. A second, red wine was poured although no replacement glasses were available and the distinct impression was given that the host was far from eager to pour or offer any kind of hospitality. One of our party requested a white wine and a single, solitary glass of white wine was poured and served. This concluded the wine tasting and antipasti service.

In conclusion we made good of the day by enjoying ourselves despite the host and complete lack of hospitality shown on the day. I would not recommend taking this excursion to anyone.
