It is a moderately difficult hiking trail with a total length of about 6 km that starts at the parking lot a the entrance. In the middle there is a decent descent or ascent, on the way back. For the total track you will need about 3 hours without breaks. Protection against the sun is recommend as well as carry enough water with you and take some breaks to rest.

This is a hard trail. We did it during afternoon-night, and it was simply great. The night-trip back during the night was fantastic (you would need llights etc). Being ready for picnic or boiling a coffee upthere is also a good choice.

We hate to give bad review of this breathtaking place. But tourists have left so much bottles and plastic, it is disheartening.

It’s a must visit. Plan a day to go trekking there and take beautiful pictures. If you visit during the rain season, you can also take a bath in the Abismo waterfall there.

This place is amazing! The trail is heavy until you get there, but the view compensates... it’s breathtaking!
I don’t recommend to go with kids and older people, that can be exhaustive.
Another tip is take at least a bottle of water with you and a small backpack while you are trekking.

The Chapada dos Veadeiros (Goiás - Brazil) has amazing lookouts, and this is free, median access with a bushwalking whose entrance is by the National Park.

To do this hike, don't enter the NP but follow the signs to Abismo. You will have to pay R10 to get in. Follow the signs to Abismo and from there there will be an arrow to point the way to the lookout.

There are no more signs but only one path, so no problem. The trail is a bit harder than the ones inside the park but no problem if you're used to hiking. We went rather slow (hurting knee) and it took us 3 hours return (just walking time, without the stop on top). From the center of São Jorge it's 13 km return.

There is not much shade, bring plenty of water and enjoy the great view on top!
